Buhari: What G7 Promised Nigeria
A statement issued yesterday by the Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) to the President, Garba Shehu, said that “at the end of the presentation he made on Monday, the G7 leaders said to him that they recognised the President’s massive amount of confidence and expectations behind his government.

“They acknowledged him as having emerged from an election adjudged to be the freest in the country’s electoral history, but regretted the severe handicaps his new government has to face from the outset.

“They told President Buhari that they took cognizance of the fact of the several handicaps, including the lack of resources, leaving him with a government over-stretched in capacity, itself riddled with mismanagement.

“The G-7 also noted that the country’s army lacked training and equipment with little or no will to engage.

“In recognition of the fact that the security threat of the Boko Haram had gone beyond Nigeria, equally affecting other countries in the region, the G7 conceded that no one country can tackle it alone.

“They expressed warm sentiments towards the Nigerian leader and praised him for reaching out to the country’s neighbours and the group of industrialised nations within a week of his takeover of government.

“In view of the seriousness he has shown in tacking this problem, the group pledged that they would “engage, cooperate and collaborate” with President Buhari’s government in tackling the serious problems that Nigeria faces.

“They left it to President Buhari to come up with the specifics on his requirements, assuring that they would study the requirements either individually or collectively and offer help.

They asked to know the nature and the scale of the problems in order to know the nature and the scale of the assistance they will provide. Suffice it to say that they assured President Buhari that ‘Nigeria will find a partner in the G7.”

Buhari, who had the privilege of being the first to address the G7 among the invited presidents and prime ministers, was warmly received at the summit. He returned to Nigeria in the early hours of yesterday.

Olamide, the Shakitibobo crooner, has replaced Davido at a concert in Malaysia. The YBNL boss is billed to perform at the African Gala Awards (AGA) which is taking place tomorrow, Friday, June 12, 2015, at D’Çlub Ballroom Damansara, Malaysia. Olamide will be performing alongside his protégé, Lil Kesh while Nigerian comedian Buchi will anchor the event.

Initially, HKN boss, Davido and Buchi were originally billed to headline the award on Saturday April 25, 2015 but Davido couldn’t get to Malaysia before the date thus the postponement of the show.

Davido and Buchi were said to have left the shores of Nigeria on April 23, two days prior the event but couldn’t get to their destination for one reason or the other. On his return, Davido took to his Instagram page to apologise to his numerous fans blaming it on airline and protocol.

On the other hand, the organizers of the award had since apologized to its invited guests for the inconveniences the postponement might have caused them blaming it on the disappointment of the invited artist. This might have informed their going for Olamide in place of Davido.

Olamide made public his replacing Davido yesterday when he shared with his fans, pictures of him on board a plane with the message:

“Oya #shakitibobo fly to Malaysia bobo #AgaAwards 2015 … @poshhills x@oldest1805” he wrote.

However, their last attempt to rob a trader near the Nkpor New tyre market turned out to be disastrous for both of them.

Two robbers on motorcycle tried to rob a Northern trader carrying mint of money in his bag as he was about to make some goods procurement at the market.

They met unexpected resistance and opened fire on trader at point-blank range, but due to damp cartridges none of the bullets caused any injuries.

Seeing that, defending trader managed to stab one of the attackers in the chest with his dagger. Both robbers fell of their motorcycle after being hit by an on-coming vehicle.

“Those who were watching the incident immediately mobilized themselves, turned to a mob, arrested the two robbers and set them ablaze”, told one of the witnesses.

Alibaba, News, Entertainment,
Alibaba has taken to his Instagram page to vent his anger and frustration at the Nigerian government and how they ruined the countries tourism sector with their ‘Oil share syndrome and politics’.

According to him,

‘With all the resources, land, water, people, natural privileges, it’s a huge shame not to be on this list! Thanks to crude oil and stupid leaders! Allshare syndrome of the oil share has killed our economy and development in all sectors. Politics is the only vibrant sector.

Thieves! And when the stakeholders have golden opportunities to ask vital questions that will grow the sector, they will be lapping up handouts and avoiding the vitals.

What is Desert Safari? The sand, the ride, the sunset, the Falcon show, the pictures, the camels, the belly dancer, the horrible dinner, 5000 Dhs X 5m people…

Year in year out! Is it the boat cruise? The malls? The water fountain musicals?… It’s so annoying… How dollar go come down?’
