Nollywood actor Jim Iyke and US based music act, Emma Agu, the publisher of nigerianfm.com, are fighting over his alleged break up with actress Nadia Buari. Jim Is accusing Emma of being the mastermind behind the break up.
Agu sent out a link to his site revealing the conversation he had with Jim Iyke via email.
The blogger is angry with Jim Iyke for accusing him of ruining his relationship with the actress.
Find their leaked conversation below:
The most sickest creep and a criminal that walk the face of the earth (Jim Iyke) called me some minutes ago and called me all kinds of names. He is accusing me of destroying his relationship with Nadia Bauri.

This overrated son of a bitch with his amateurish acting skills thinks his name can bring any good to a writer or a blogger. The man with a tainted name, a rogue who has burnt every bridge he stepped on is trying to hold me responsible for what ever misfortune that has fallen him in the last 72 hours.
So this montebank sneaked into New York around 5am 3 days ago and did everything to keep it a top secret until the bubble bust right in front of him. When I got the hint that James was in Keturah’s house, I thought Keturah was lying . The girl said James came claiming that his relationship with Nadia Bauri was over. She also said james (Jim) came to pick her up for Nigeria. I told her this guy might be lying.
As a brother and one this crook calls ‘a confidante,’ I sent him an email which he never replied. He wanted to make sure Keturah never told me about his arrival to the extent he threw me under the bus. He lied against me and told Keturah stuff that got both of us into a heated argument. So I smelt a rat and decided to find out from Ghana who is telling the truth.
When I got in touch with Nadia’s manager, he maintained that Nadia was aware Jim went to Miami and insisted that he (Jim) was no way near Keturah’s house.
Nadia’s manager subsequently called him, he lied that he was in Miami. I was on the phone with Keturah Hamilton when Nana( Nadia’s manager) sent me a text message saying Jim was in Miami.
I never believed Keturah that Jim was in her house until she showed me a proof. It became very apparent that Jim iyke lied to both Keturah Hamilton and Nadia Bauri. Nadia Bauri decided to pull the plug off their ever restless relationship.
Some hours ago, Jim called to insult me. Saying maybe I want to be famous. This writer started enjoying limelight, stardom and fame while Jim was maybe in Secondary School. He said I was the only man on earth he respected till today.
I have him on tape and will play it to my world audience by 8AM New York time, which should be 1PM Nigerian Time. I need everyone out there to listen and find out why Jim Iyke should be taken off the streets. The guy can never change. That deliverance by TB Joshua never worked. It was a fluke.
This guy is bipolar , a psycho who needs to see a doctor. I will get him arrested for making threats to my life. There’s a huge difference between living in America and Nigeria. I will teach him how to live in America.
For everyone’s information, Jim Iyke is babysitting Keturah Hamilton’s dog while she is in LA with her lover.
I have been expecting Keturah to give me the number with which Jim called since he blocked his number when he called. I will track him down right away.
This guy is a monumental disappointment, fraudster, liar and a cheat. Why is he so mad? The reason is simple. He is looking for a scapegoat. Jim should hold himself responsible for whatever happened to his relationship with Nadia Buari. On the other hand, Keturah Hamilton is no more available. The girl has moved on.

Actor and film maker Prince Eke has released an official press statement in regards to the recent theft scandal involving himself, a South Africa based rapper named Prosper and actress Angela Okorie.

In the statement released exclusively to Encomium magazine, Prince Eke apologized to his fans for getting himself involved in the messy scandal. He also advised Angela Okorie to desist from spreading the allegations of him conniving with Prosper to spoil her name. His statement below…
“My fans, family, friends and colleagues, my sincere apology to you all for finding myself in this messy situation out of the fact that I wanted to help an up and coming artiste to realize her dream in movie making in South Africa which I consider as giving back by helping others grow. This is not the first time I am doing this. I have always been into charity works but unfortunately, this has put me and my name in a messy situation just because I had to speak the truth. I say so because morally, I couldn’t stand to see or witness another man messing around with another man’s wife. Continue…
This is just the crime I committed and the lady involved is now dragging my name in the mud, saying she got me passport to travel to South Africa. For God’s sake, I flew United Airways to Houston on January 30th, 2014 to film. I proceeded to Maryland where I shot another movie directed by Kingsley Ukaegbu, featuring Best Davies, Moses Efret and Oge Okoye. I returned to Nigeria on march 13 2014 and this was three weeks before the South African trip. So its stupid for someone to say she got me passport. It is very sad that when you try to support people to grow, they turn around and stab you at the back. $ 1,000 my foot! This is someone who actually begged and pleaded that she can’t afford to pay me, that I should help her. I still have a munched copy of the SMS she sent with her phone number.

Explaining why she she has taken her career in that direction, she said:

The last thing your friend is going to do when you tell him to relax is actually relax. If your bro is annoyed, the last thing you’d do is tell him what he should do with his mood. You’re playing with fire here, fella. Chances are, he’ll get more pissed and this may get you a fist in your mouth.

No matter how weird they are, how embarrassing they can be for you – they are your friends! And you love them, despite it – and in some cases, because of it. And hey! They are the only people you can be embarrassing with yourself.
We accept it- bromance is an integral part of our lives, much like Football. Of course, we love women, but when it comes to our brothers, there is no competition to begin with. With bromance comes bro-code, the unsaid manifesto that essentially defines a man’s friendship to another man. And while there are rules on how and what you’ll say to your friend, there are other set of rules on what you cannot say to him. We help list out 5 such things.

1. Don’t be offended, but
If you need to have to put such a warning in the beginning of the statement, rest assured you’re ready to offend your friend. There is no way nothing nice is coming along. You would never say ‘Bro, don’t be offended, but that’s some brilliant scruff.’ Nothing nice comes when you add a preamble. It’s a good rule of thumb to go by.

2. Can I have a sip of your beer?
No, you cannot and must not. You can share fries, wine, heck whisky even. Not enough? Okay, go ahead and take a bite of that burger too. But, beer is not meant to be shared by the dudes. You buy your own bottle and drink from that very bottle. Men also don’t share the drinks from the same bottle.

3. Relax bro!
The last thing your friend is going to do when you tell him to relax is actually relax. If your bro is annoyed, the last thing you’d do is tell him what he should do with his mood. You’re playing with fire here, fella. Chances are, he’ll get more pissed and this may get you a fist in your mouth. Imagine if the situation was reversed and someone asked you to relax instead. You see what we’re saying!

4. I love you
Only in the most emotional of states should you utter these words, otherwise zip it. In fact, you’re my boy, I’m there for you or I got your back works equally well too. Now if your brother is actually your best friend, then this doesn’t hold true. But if you were saying it to a guy who’s non relative- then steer clear. Yes!

5. That’s why you probably haven’t met anyone
If you’re in a conversation with your buddy where this is even remotely relevant, it’s still not the best time to say it. He might be talking about something insane or forbidden he is doing, ‘I’m going to a lot of strip clubs these days,’ or ‘I can’t stop flirting with that hot new co-worker’, then they are probably not looking out for someone to lecture them on their wrong-doings. You just have to be there for him, and not pass any snide comment

Subject: Dealing with the Boko Haram Menace in Nigeria
Date: May 15, 2014
Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil (Eccl. 8:11)

Introduction: An Urgent Call for Concerted Intercessions!
The case of the abducted over 200 Chibok girls is a matter of grave concern and an assault on the nation and the church of Christ in particular, as over 90% of these girls are Christians.
This is apart from thousands of believers and pastors who have been slain, many during worship services in churches between 2010 till date. We must arise and silence this Goliath called boko haram.
? First, we must believe that the ongoing ugly situation is but a common battle and that God has reserved victory for us as a nation – 1Cor. 10:13
? We must also recognize that it is a battle against the powers of darkness – Eph. 6:10-12/16/
2Cor. 10:3-5/ Ex. 12:12
? We must therefore engage in a fight of faith in prayers to bring down these agents of the wicked one called boko haram – 1Tim. 6:12/ Ps. 74:20
? We must also recognize that trusting in our strength is a risk and trusting in human helps as against God’s help is dangerous – Ps. 33:16-20/ Ps. 20:7-8/ Is. 31:1-5/ 2Chr. 16:12-13
? We must therefore actively engage the spirit of God to bring down these hosts of hell
– Is. 59:19/ Zech. 4:6/ Lk. 10:19.
It is high time the church took spiritual responsibility
We will recall that this church once called for prayers for the nation and ‘Pelatiah’ that was disturbing the peace of this nation then died. I believe God will do it again as He overthrows the camps of boko haram and silences them forever in Jesus’ name – Ezek. 11:1-13.
• But we must pray and pray aright – James 4:1-2
• We must begin to invoke vengeance upon the camp of boko haram, their perpetrators and sponsors – Ps. 94:1-5/ Ps. 68:1-3/ Ps. 35:1-6
? We must recognise that we are in the last days, the day vengeance against the camp of the enemy – Is. 61:1-2/ Acts 13:8/ Joel 2:23-24
• We must start to invoke curses on the network of boko haram organization – Is. 54:14-17/ 2Thess. 1:6
? Recognizing that everything that mocks the church of Christ is ordained for a curse
- Gen. 12:3/ Gen. 22:17-18/ Ex. 4:22-23/ 2Kgs. 2:21-23
? And that everyone that curses the church must be cursed in return – Is. 54:17/
1Sam. 17:45-50/ Ps. 139:21-22
• We must rise to silence all the agents of the wicked by invoking the arrows of death in their camp – Ex. 22:18/ 1Sam. 2:6/ Ps. 7:10-16/ Ps. 11:5-6
• We must also rise to turn this army of aliens to flight – Heb. 11:33-34/ Ps. 81:10-14/ Lk. 21:15
? Recognizing that God says if He can find 10 righteous men in Sodom, He will spare the city – Gen. 18:23-26
Therefore, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the church of Christ in Nigeria, the boko haram terrorist group shall not succeed to destroy the nation but shall be destroyed and become totally extinct – Matt. 16:18/ Ps. 122:9

Jesus is Lord!
15th May, 2014
Signed.

The Spain international believes the club have let themselves down in the past few weeks, but is now turning his attention to the Champions League final
Sergio Ramos has voiced his frustration with Real Madrid's failure to win La Liga this season as he feels they had a unique opportunity to win it.

Madrid were beaten 2-0 by Celta on Sunday to end their hopes of winning the title as Atletico Madrid and Barcelona will now decide among themselves who will be crowned Spanish champions in next week's match at Camp Nou.
"After a great season in this competition the team wasn't up to scratch and we've let La Liga slip away from us in a very bad way," Ramos told the official Madrid website.
"You go home feeling sad and disappointed for having let this unique opportunity to win the title pass us by. We have given our all on the field and tried to play as well as possible. We shouldn't take anything away from this league season."
The defender then went on to stress that Madrid must now turn their attention to this month's Champions League final against Atletico.
"We can't complain or let our heads go down. We have to switch gears from the last few matches.
"Now it's time to think about the Champions League final and be self-critical. That's football: one day you're up, the next your down. Madrid are capable of anything. We have to reflect and draw conclusions."
The Champions League final takes place in Lisbon on May 24

Nearing the end of the service, during the time Joshua’s ‘Wise Men’ were ministering ‘deliverance’ to people, an aggressive young man dressed in a shabby suit was ushered forward.
“I am one of the Boko Haram,” the man declared to the wise man, clearly under an unusual influence.
“They said they would give me N2,000,000 if I went to blow up a church,” the man continued upon questioning as to how he joined the infamous group of insurgents. “Every church would be N2,000,000. They said would be give me big house and a wife.”

Boko Haram has been the focus of huge international media attention following their claiming responsibility for the kidnapping of over 200 girls several weeks ago.
Queried as to why he came to the church, the man stated, “I have been hearing of T.B. Joshua – that is why I came here.” The wise man then prayed for the man who fell heavily to the ground, before being declared free from the ‘evil spirit’.
Several minutes later, T.B. Joshua himself returned to the service simply clad in jeans and a t-shirt. “I was in the prayer room when I heard the deliverance going on and listened to the confession of this guy. What he was confessing is mind-boggling,” the cleric told the congregation.
Bringing the man back before the congregation, Joshua questioned him further as to how he was initiated into the sect. “My name is Hosea Bulus,” the man began. “They gave me blood; they gave me charms. I took it inside food.”
According to Bulus, upon taking the diabolic ‘blood’, the urge to kill and destroy entered him. “If you talk to me, I will fight you very well,” he confessed.
Joshua emphasised to the congregation that the battle was more spiritual than physical. “One thing you must know – we are fighting evil spirits that steal, kill and destroy. Let us not fight our neighbours.”
He insisted the problem was not a Muslim-Christian issue. “They are using that name as a camouflage, as a cover up,” he stated, adding that no one could bring himself to killing innocent lives without being under the influence of an ‘evil spirit’.
Joshua then prayed for the man, who fell to his knees and immediately complained that he wanted to visit the toilet.
The popular pastor reminded the congregation of the well-publicized deliverance of an alleged Boko Haram member named ‘Mustapha’ two months ago at The SCOAN who stated he came to bomb the church with four accomplices.
He explained that authorities in Abuja have certified the authenticity of his confession, contrary to the statement released by Lagos State Police Commissioner Umar Manko who initially dismissed the claims.
“At the beginning they said it’s not true but the authorities in Abuja came out to confirm that he is truly a Boko Haram member… They are following it up.”
The cleric concluded by stating he would not ask any further questions publicly so as not to undermine the intelligence Hosea would be able to provide to the relevant authorities.
Several minutes later, the man was shown excreting out some blackish substances following the prayer.

The Lille goalkeeper has joined the impressive line up of winners of the Radio France International-France 24 best African prize named in honour of the late Cameroonian midfielder
Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has won the RFI - FRANCE 24 Marc-Vivien Foé Award for the best African player in the French Ligue 1 football championship for the 2013-14 season, it has been announced.
The Lille goalkeeper won out over Ivory Coast defender Serge Aurier (Toulouse FC) and Cameroon international player Henri Bedimo (Olympique Lyonnais).

Enyeama, 31, was picked by a jury composed of French football journalists after each member selected three names from a list of 10 players previously drawn up by the RFI and France 24 sports departments.

After putting in some remarkable performances right throughout the season, Enyeama impressed football enthusiasts by keeping a clean sheet for 11 consecutive matches (1062 minutes).

With 82 caps to his credit in the national team, he helped the Super Eagles  to win the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013 and will be playing with them in the World Cup in Brazil.

The Trophy for the Best African Ligue 1 player was renamed the Marc-Vivien Foé Award in 2011 in tribute to the Cameroonian player who died unexpectedly during a match in Lyon's Gerland stadium on June 26, 2003.

The Nigerian had lost the Professional Footballers Union (UNFP) best goalkeeper award on Sunday evening to Paris Saint Germain's Salvatore Sirigu.

Previous winners of the RFI-France 24 Marc Vivien Foe trophy are Marouane Chamakh 2009 (Morocco), Gervinho 2010 & 2011 (Ivory Coast), Younès Belhanda 2012 (Morocco) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon) in 2013.

Once again,  it has been proven to the world that the power of social media can not be under estimated when a single Hashtag BingBackOurGirls campaign which started on Twitter has now gained Nigeria the needed attention of the world to the deadly activities of the Boko Haram sect.

But the question is? Who started the #BringBackGirls tag on Twitter? In what seems to be  surprise to many Nigerians, a Los Angeles Film maker, Ramaa Mosley, is taking the credit for the viral Twitter Campaign. In a recent TV interview in which she appeared, Mosley claims she tweeted the #BringBackOurGirls first. She even went as far as including this claim on her Wikipedia Profile.
She claims she was driving a car when she heard the news, ran home and started Tweeting

Hero is a feature documentary film, directed by international award-winning filmmaker Frances-Anne Solomon, that tells the story of Trinidadian icon Ulric Cross.
Ulric Cross is ‘a hero for all time’ because he lived through and participated in key moments of 20th Century post-colonial history, like the Second World War, the independence movements in Africa and the Caribbean, the rise of a new brand of local leaders after the Black Power Revolution in Trinidad, the coming of age of Caribbean societies in the eighties and nineties – incidents and shifts that defined our present reality as Caribbean people.

The film tells the story of Ulric Cross through live action, archive, recreation and animation, a contemporary pulling together of new forms of expression to tell a timeless story of one man’s heroism.
This looks different from the everyday movie and we are excited.. Getting ready to see a different kind of John Dumelo.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is considered one of the Nigeria’s most prominent young authors, and now commands an international audience. Most recently, she made headlines upon the release of the film adaptation of her novel, “Half of a Yellow Sun,” as well as for the recent publication of her third novel, “Americanah.” As Adichie’s body of work grows, take a peek at her life - See more at:
She comes from a long line of strong women
Adichie’s mother was the University of Nigeria’s first female registrar, serving as the head of the administrative section of the university. Her sister operates a medical practice in Coventry, Connecticut.

Adichie was known to butt heads with her teachers growing upAdichie’s strong personality would occasionally put her in conflict with teachers while she was growing up in Nsukka, Nigeria, near the University of Nigeria. Despite this, she remained an A student and received numerous academic awards.

She has become known as a fashion icon
Adichie’s mother was always very concerned about her daughter’s appearance, and instilled the same value in her children. When Adichie first burst onto the writing scene in the U.S., she tried to dress more subdued in an attempt to be taken seriously, but soon realized that her personal style had the right to shine through.

She dropped out of medical school to pursue writing
Following her father’s wishes, Adichie enrolled in medical school in Nigeria, but dropped out at age 19 to attend Drexel University in Philadelphia on a scholarship. She ended up graduating from Eastern Connecticut State University with a degree in communication and political science.

She was inspired by Chinua Achebe
After reading Chinua Achebe’s “Things Fall Apart,” Adichie was inspired by seeing her own life represented in the pages. She once said, “I realized that people who looked like me could live in books.” Using that inspiration, Adichie has been writing about the Nigerian experience throughout her career.

She grew up in a house once owned by Achebe
Adichie and her family lived in a home in Nsukka that was once owned by Chinua Achebe, further strengthening the connection between the two Igbo literary legends. A Nigerian novelist, poet, professor, and critic, Achebe was best known for his first novel and magnum opus, “Things Fall Apart,” — the most widely read book in modern African literature. He died in 2013 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Her novel, “Half of a Yellow Sun,” derives its name from the Biafra flag
The novel, “Half of a Yellow Sun,” is set before and during the Biafran war, and its title reflects the flag of the short-lived independent nation. The film adaptation, directed by Biyi Bandele, stars Chiwetel Ejiofor (“12 Years a Slave”) and Thandie Newton.

The Nigerian government delayed the release of the film “Half of a Yellow Sun”
Due to the film’s representation of violence that occurred during the Biafran war, the Nigerian government refused to issue the movie a certificate, essentially banning it and delaying its release. Worries arose about the film’s potential to incite violence, particularly in the country’s largely Christian south that is still home to a sizable Igbo independence movement.

Her work has been sampled by Beyoncé
The visual album release for Beyoncé’s song, “Flawless,” in 2013, included an excerpt from a talk that Adichie gave at TEDxEuston in December 2012. The talk, entitled “We Should All be Feminists,” discussed the way women are raised and what it means to be a feminist. “We teach girls to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller,” Adichie said. “We say to girls: ‘You can have ambition, but not too much. You should aim to be successful, but not too successful. Otherwise, you will threaten the man…’” Adichie defined a feminist as a person who believes in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes.

She splits her time between Nigeria and the U.S.
Adichie is married to a Maryland-based doctor, and splits her time between the United States and her home in Nigeria. She continues to teach writing workshops in her home country, inspiring the next generation of writers.

The leader of the Nigerian Islamist rebel group Boko Haram has said he will release more than 200 schoolgirls abducted by his fighters last month in exchange for prisoners, according to a video seen by Agence France-Presse on Monday.

Around 100 girls wearing full veils and praying are shown in an undisclosed location in the 17-minute video in which Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau speaks, according to the French news agency.

Militants fighting for an Islamist state stormed a secondary school in the northeastern village of Chibok on April 14 and seized 276 girls who were taking exams. Some managed to escape but around 200 remain missing.

The group has killed thousands since 2009 and destabilized parts of northeast Nigeria, the country with Africa's largest population and biggest economy.

The attack has provoked global expressions of outrage, and concern about the fate of the girls deepened when Shekau threatened in a video released earlier this month to sell the girls "in the market".

Nigeria said on Saturday it had deployed two army divisions to the hunt for the girls while several nations including the United States, Britain, Israel and France have offered assistance or sent experts.

The Nigerian government has been sharply criticized for its response to the abductions but President Goodluck Jonathan said on Sunday that international military and intelligence assistance made him optimistic about finding the girls.

French President Francois Hollande on Sunday offered to host a summit in Paris next Saturday with Nigeria and its neighbors focused on the militant group.

The leaders of Benin, Cameroon, Chad and Niger might also attend and Britain, the European Union and the United States would probably be represented as well, Hollande's aides said.

The mass abduction of schoolgirls has touched a chord around the world, and triggered a support campaign using the Twitter hashtag #BringBackOurGirls.

Those rumors about the divorce between of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have really picked up momentum in the last week. The couple has barely spent any time together in the last year and we’ve heard that Mariah insisted on not celebrating their 6th anniversary last week because she is ready to pull the plug on the marriage.

When Mariah and Nick first got together he was always with her to support her as she promoted her latest endeavors but that is no longer the case. In fact Mariah is beginning to promote her new album Me. I Am Mariah…the Elusive Chanteause and she is doing it alone.

Mariah stopped by David Letterman’s show recently and while her cleavage was on full display her husband was missing. Before you jumped to the conclusion that he may have been in LA let me squash that for you. Nick was actually in Hartford, CT. at a school pretending to be principal for the day. NYC is a pretty quick train ride away so it was quite obviously a choice not to support his wife.

It was a very busy weekend for Kim Kardashian. In addition to hosting a selfie-filled bridal shower at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, the soon-to-be-married mom took some time out to mark her first Mother’s Day with a quiet (but of course professionally documented and choreographed) moment with baby North West.
Her most excellent Mother’s Day started, though, with a shout-out to the man she calls the “best fiance in the world,” Kanye West. “I woke up to a wall of roses, hydrangeas and peonies!!!” she wrote. “I have the best fiancé in the world! I love you so much baby!!!! #HappyMothersDay.”

Jay Z and Beyoncé were all smiles on the red carpet at the Met Gala last week (with the mock proposal, and all) but things got very ugly by the end of the night.

TMZ has released new footage that shows Jay Z being violently attacked by his sister-in-law, Solange Knowles, at an after party.
The video footage shows Jay Z, Solange and Beyoncé all stepping into an elevator at the Standard Hotel in New York City, and within seconds Solange completely loses it. She immediately begins to kick and punch Hov, while he tries to fend off her blows.

A bodyguard steps in between to break things up, but even he can’t prevent Solange from landing a last kick. There’s no audio in the footage, so it’s impossible to know what Beyoncé said during the altercation, but she definitely didn’t get in between the two.

Events in my household last week have underscored my motherhood ever more strongly. First, there was a baby shower. Then there was a milestone birthday anniversary.

A brother in Nigeria who heard of the baby shower asked what it meant. I told him it’s a party held to shower an expectant (or new) mother with gifts and words of wisdom, often from experienced mothers.
Typically, baby showers are organised for a first-time mother or mother-to-be. My oldest daughter, Ms. Nefertiti Aquah-Braden, in whose honour I hosted the baby shower on Friday, is in the second category.

I had previously attended two baby showers including one that friends in Edmonton, Canada hosted for me in 2003. I had never hosted one myself. Thanks to God Almighty for ‘Google University,’ the giver of all knowledge, I quickly became an expert!

Of course, the emergency “expertise” would have been entirely academic without the practical knowledge of Ms. Edo Etukeren, president of the Akwa Ibom State Association (AKISAN) in Arizona. “Madam Presido” arrived at my home, laden with games, activities and prizes, creating a fun and laughter-filled evening.

Three days later, my youngest child turned 10. I know … how did I get from being a soon-to-be grandma to being the mama of a ten-year-old? Let’s just say it’s one of life’s mysteries!

As a landmark birthday (entry into the double digits), it should have been celebrated with full throttle. Instead, it was low-key as we barely recovered from the baby shower, plus we are preparing for our middle daughter’s university graduation on May 15. Yes, my motherhood covers the entire gamut!

Not surprisingly though, in each of these mother-related activities, I’ve found myself thinking about the parents of the 234 girls trucked away from their school in the middle of the night nearly three weeks ago.

Some days ago I was at a friend’s place and was asked by his sisters if I was traveling abroad for the wedding of a colleague that is still being talked about on blogs and on all social networking sites in nigeria and I said no I wasn’t. But what struck me as odd was when one of them asked me “is she getting married to a BRAND NEW husband or a 2ND HAND husband”?
I stared at her in shock and confusion because up until that moment, I had never heard of a phrase as “brand new or 2nd hand husband. It became a heated debate amongst people in the house that day. ‘WOW’, I never thought a phrase like 2nd hand can be attributed to a human being. I know it is only applicable to objects. At first i was angry. How could they have said such.

But as crazy and odd as it may have sounded, they drew my attention to their observations that it is a trend currently popular amongst female celebrities in nigeria. The guys in the house even tweaked it into a joke.
Adding that it is a normal thing in nigeria that when you can’t afford a brand new car you go for a 2nd hand one. I couldn’t help but laugh at that one. But on my way home, I thought about it for a minute and asked myself if truly a 2nd hand or brand new theory can be a determinant in finding a husband? It got me staring at every car passing by, trying to understand the rational behind the argument of a 2nd hand husband and a brand new one. How do you determine if a husband is a 2nd hand? I asked myself. I was later told that a man becomes a 2nd hand if he was previously married or is still married to another woman before taking a new wife.
And that a 2nd hand husband just like a 2nd hand car comes in two types. Nigerian used and Tokunbo. Meaning the husband who was previously married and living here in nigeria is the “nigerian used”, while the one shipped in from abroad is the Tokunbo version. Shocking isn’t it? Ok, let us analyse this for a minute. It is a known fact that in nigeria, when you want to buy a 2nd hand car you are strongly advised to take a mechanic with you. So can you also do the same with a 2nd hand husband? Should it also be recommended that when going for a 2nd hand husband you should make sure to take a medical doctor to administer all the necessary check ups to be sure you are not getting damaged goods?
Because in the true sense of it, a 2nd hand is a 2nd hand whether car or husband.
And If the carburetor of a 2nd hand car can easily pack up on 3rd mainland bridge, it means a 2nd hand husband can also pack up on the way to the alter. As these thoughts were spinning in my head, I began asking myself the same questions they asked me. Why do nigerian female celebrities prefer 2nd hand husbands. Or Why would anyone prefer a 2nd hand husband? But come to think of it, Is it that our female celebrities can no longer afford the luxury of waiting for the brand new ones to come along?
Or have the brand new ones refused to be fooled by the razzmatazz or flashy make ups, thick foundations, artificial nails, Brazilian hair and Peruvian eye lashes? Can it be attributed to a thing of choice? They said a 2nd hand husband is often an Alhaji or an Otunba with pot belle and deep pocket. Is it because of the  money or societal status of the men? As long as he is fully loaded she really does not care. Some went further to say that a 2nd hand husband is already tested and trusted with a confirmed rate of performance and durability?
So figure a female celebrity asking her colleague, “What is the mileage of your 2nd hand husband? And she replies “Ahhh I nor know say hin former wives don finish am oo.. Na shaft I marry ooo, My sista nor be small thing ooo, even my doctor sef say him liver go soon park up. And na for hospital I dey sleep for the past 3 weeks. Just like 2nd hand car owner dey sleep for mechanic workshop everyday. As my Curiosity got the better of me, I asked them for names of female celebrities with 2nd hand husbands. I was shocked beyond recognition that the list they gave me was as long as the distance from mile 2 to Badagry. According to the list, almost all married female celebrity in nigeria has a 2nd hand husband and even some of the female celebrities themselves are 2nd hand. And some of the male celebrities also have 2nd hand wives or they themselves are 2nd hand. Well, if you don’t believe me, make a list of your own and be amazed as I am right now.
My conclusion is that the issue of 2nd hand husband is not peculiar to entertainers. It is a general societal disease and it is as a result of too many failed marriages we have in the society at large. While nobody should be blamed for falling in love or getting married to whoever he or she chooses, it is also important that we position our lives to inspire the children and future entertainers who see us as role models in the society. You may argue that it is not the society’s business what you do with your affairs. Which is very true but also remember that being a celebrity makes your life a public affair. So go ahead girls, take home the 2nd hand husbands, it is your choice and it does not matter even if he looks like an “accidented” car with scary mileage.
If you love him that much and he has some money to spend, you can take him to the highly skilled american body mechanic called Dr. 90210 to panel-beat and mask all his dents. And if you are fortunate to find one whose mileage is manageable, you can take him to Ladipo market, buy the missing body parts and get a local panel-beater to fix him. And if you are a handy-woman, You can even do the servicing yourself by getting a complete first aid kit with bandages, Ampiclox and mentholatum and massage his joints every night before sleeping.

The Real Madrid forward has scored 151 league goals up until now.
The Whites beat Osasuna 4-0 in their last La Liga outing in the Santiago Bernabéu in a match in which Cristiano Ronaldo scored the first two goals. The brace brought the Portuguese forward's goal tally in this season's domestic campaign - in which he is the top scorer - to 30, a figure he has reached for the fourth year in a row with Real Madrid.

During the 2010/2011 season, Ronaldo hit the mark 41 times in La Liga, a record tally in the competition at the time and a feat that earned him the top goal scorer award. But the Portuguese beat his own record the following season when he scored 46 goals during the Whites title-winning campaign. Last season he netted 34 times, which along with his goals this season brings his tally to 151 during his four years with the club.

On 9 November 2013 the German played his last game for Real Madrid.
Sami Khedira is the most notable addition to Carlo Ancelotti's matchday squad for the game against Valencia. The midfielder tore his anterior and collateral cruciate ligaments in the right knee in a friendly between Germany and Italy on 15 November 2013. The next day he underwent surgery at the Hesssingpark Clinic in Augsburg and later he was transferred for rehabilitation to the Eden-Reha Clinic in Donaustauf, near Munich, and Ciudad Real Madrid.

He then continued his return to fitness in southern Sicily and days later returned to Madrid, where he rejoined his team-mates. The last match that Khedira played for Real Madrid was on 9 November 2013, when he scored the Whites' fourth goal in their victory over Real Sociedad at the Bernabéu (5-1). 176 days after that appearance and following many hours of hard work and effort to recover, the German returns to the Whites' matchday squad.

It is the first team from the big five European leagues to reach this figure.
On the back of its strong scoring record, Real Madrid is still in contention of winning an historic treble. Having recently been crowned Cup champions, then securing their place inthe final of the Champions League while still being in with a chance of winning La Liga, Ancelotti's men have already scored 150 times this season. A massive figure that was reached in the historic 0-4 victory in Munich.

The Whites are the highest scoring side in all five of the European big leagues, ahead of Manchester City (147), Barcelona (145) and Bayern (143). Real Madrid tops the list in terms of goals scored in the domestic league with 98. On top of that, they have hit the mark 37 times in the Champions League and on 15 occasions in the Copa del Rey.

Chris Brown will be spending his 25th birthday in jail after a judge denied him bail again on Thurs. May 1st at a hearing in L.A. Superior Court.

After seven weeks in jail, the Loyal singer was hoping to be out in time for his birthday which will be May 5th, but he’ll have to spend at least another week in jail as his next hearing won’t be until May 9.

Britain's best-known celebrity publicist was jailed for eight years on Friday for indecently assaulting teenage girls in the 1970s and 1980s, the first conviction from an inquiry into sex abuse triggered by revelations that the late BBC TV presenter Jimmy Savile had been a prolific sex offender over decades.
Max Clifford, 71, whose clients have included TV music mogul Simon Cowell and U.S. boxer Muhammad Ali, was found guilty on eight counts of indecently assaulting four girls aged 14 to 19 between 1977 and 1984.

He was cleared on two charges and a jury couldn't reach a verdict on an 11th charge dating back to 1966.

Judge Anthony Leonard at London's Southwark Crown Court imposed consecutive jail terms on Clifford due to the severity of the cases, which amounted to a total of eight years imprisonment of which Clifford is expected to serve half.

Director of Public Prosecutions Alison Saunders said the sentence reflected the severity of the crimes and praised Clifford's victims for coming forward.

"I hope this provides other victims with the courage and confidence to come forward and report abuse that may have happened to them, no matter who is alleged to have carried out the abuse or when," Saunders said in a statement.

Singer Chris Brown in jail for at least another week, judge says

A Los Angeles judge on Thursday said R&B singer Chris Brown will remain in jail for at least another week as the pop star deals with dual cases on both sides of the country.
Brown, who will now spend his 25th birthday on May 5 behind bars, has been held since March 14 after his dismissal from a rehabilitation center violated the terms of his court-ordered treatment related to his 2009 assault of his then-girlfriend, the pop singer Rihanna.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James Brandlin said Brown would remain incarcerated unless a resolution on the terms of his probation in the Rihanna case could be agreed to between the prosecutor and Brown's attorney by a scheduled hearing on May 9.

Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, said if he cannot resolve the case with prosecutor, Mary Murray, by next week, he will ask the court to release Brown on certain terms and conditions.

Two-goal hero Sergio Ramos has said he had a score to settle with Bayern Munich after helping his Real Madrid side reach the Champions League final.
The 28-year-old played a huge part in the sensational win in the Allianz Arena, scoring two headed goals in the first half to put his team comfortably ahead. He also put in a very disciplined performance at the back, walking a the tightrope all night long knowing a booking would rule him out of the final in Lisbon.

Speaking on TV straight after the game, Ramos expressed his delight at reaching the final – Madrid’s first in 12 years. And he added that after particular pain against the Bavarians, he felt he had got his revenge.

"The Champions League owed me one; and what’s more, against Bayern. The time with the penalty and the time with Oliver Kahn," he said.
He dedicated one of his goals to a close friend of his, and another to his dad, but then played down his importance in scoring, preferring instead to focus on the team effort to overcome the holders.
"Goals are not that important, although it is very rewarding on a personal level but what’s most important is the team. We said we would give it our all and we did. Real Madrid is where it belongs. We’ve beaten the current champions on their home turf in true Real Madrid style."

Gareth Bale says he's happy ignoring the size of his price-tag at Real Madrid.

The Welshman became the most expensive player in world football last summer when he completed an £86million move to Spain from Tottenham.
"I do think of the journey I have made."

"Missing pre-season affected me massively. I didn't realise how important a pre-season was until I came to Madrid."

"It took a little while for me to get going, which I think everyone understood. But I have been able to really kick-on after Christmas, to get my fitness up and play well."

"I try not to think about the fee. I came to Madrid to play football and I am enjoying that. If I think about that and nothing else, then I know that I'll play well."

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has welcomed Atletico Madrid reaching the Champions League final.

The two Madrid giants will meet in Lisbon for the final.
“Atletico were the better team and deserved to reach the final,” said Ancelotti. “At this moment, everyone in Madrid is happy at the thought of the match between Real and Atletico "
“Are we favourites? In a final there is never a favourite. Atletico have done well since the start of the season and that is continuing."
“It will be a very even final, without any real favourites.”

Hugh Jackman, famous for playing Wolverine in the X-Men franchise, has revealed his close call on set.
The 45-year-old actor got himself into a bit of a scrape while wearing his superhero costume, which includes long, metal blades extending from his hands, on the set of “X-Men: Days of Future Past” when he tried to cover up his male organ from female crew members.
“There was a very intense first scene and I insisted on a closed set. I ran round the corner and all the female members of the crew were gathered there. I tried to cover myself and cut my inner thigh – it was just the inner thigh thankfully! The metal claws had to go – you can’t have bits and pieces flying off.” he shared during his appearance on “The Graham Norton Show

United States condemned a bomb attack on a packed bus station in Nigeria which killed 71 people, and yesterday fresh attack, called for a full investigation.

“We are outraged by this senseless act of violence against innocent civilians,” State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters, also condemning a series of attacks on three villages in Borno State over the weekend.
The bomb, which injured 19 people and 12 people dead rocked the Nyanya station on Abuja’s southern outskirts as it was filled with morning commuters, leaving body parts scattered across the terminal and destroying dozens of vehicles.
President Goodluck Jonathan blamed Boko Haram militants for the attack, but Psaki called for a “full investigation to identify and bring justice to the perpetrators of these attacks.”
“We continue to stand with the Nigerian government and people as they grapple with violent extremism,” she added.

Whether you’re outside in the snow or freezing from the air conditioning, he’s going to offer you his jacket. It doesn’t matter if you’re already bundled up and he’s skimpily dressed

1. WATCHING HOT ACTORS
You can force your boyfriend to watch Vampire Diaries with you while you gush over Ian Somerhalder. For the duration of the episode, you can drool over how luscious his lips are. When the credits roll, just grab your boyfriend and make out with him. Of course, in your mind, you’re actually making out with Damon. If you have a good imagination, then watching TV is one of the things that are better with a boyfriend.

2. WASTING MONEY
When you have a boyfriend, you can waste his money instead of your own. No more worrying about how high the price of clothing is. Whenever you find a cute outfit, you’ll be using his credit card. Even if he doesn’t offer to pay, you know he wants to, so you might as well slip his cash out of his wallet while he’s distracted by your kisses.

3. EXERCISING
When you’re single, you have to jump on a treadmill or walk around the block to stay fit. With a boyfriend, all you have to do is kiss. That burns calories, right? You’ll never have to take a trip to the gym again, so you might as well revoke your membership. Or just keep it–he’s the one paying, anyway.

 4. DRIVING LONG DISTANCES
When you have a boyfriend, you can make him your personal chauffeur. Claim that you’re too tired to drive, and he’ll hop right in that driver’s seat. Depending on how far away your destination is, this could give you plenty of extra free time. You can read, sleep, or make a call while he’s busy watching the road.

5. CATCHING A COLD
When you’re sick, he’s forced to become your slave while you relax. Now that’s living the dream. You’re ill, so he doesn’t expect you to please him. That means it’s all about you. You get what you want, and you’re even allowed to be grumpy, because you’re under the weather. You could get away with anything, and get anything.

6. FEELING FREEZING
Whether you’re outside in the snow or freezing from the air conditioning, he’s going to offer you his jacket. It doesn’t matter if you’re already bundled up and he’s skimpily dressed–if he doesn’t offer his jacket, he’s not a gentleman. He won’t risk that, so he’s going to hand it over. You don’t even have to give it back, which means you get a free jacket!

7. LOOKING GOOD
When you’re single, and you look good, others may be too shy to compliment you. However, when you’re in a relationship, it’s the guy’s job to shower you with praise. Even if your outfit is hideous, you can expect a compliment or two that day. If you don’t get one, kick him to the curb, and find a new, more appreciative model.

President Jonathan is worse than his advisors. Anyone who believes that Goodluck Jonathan is a good man who’s just surrounded by “bad” people must be the most gullible and naive person ever. Who appointed the “bad” people? Who refuses to fire the “bad” people? Yep, there’s your answer.

Behold 20 truthful opinions. Enjoy….

1. PDP won’t lose any election you wish they’d lose. They will only be voted out by you.

2. No country ever achieved good governance, unless the people demand it.

3. We need a revolution, albeit we need a bloodless one more, we need one regardless. This is 2014 and not a day passes by that DISCO or GENCO doesn’t tamper with my electricity supply. No day passes that a minor isn’t raped but our National Assembly made up of both PDP, APC, APGA etc lawmakers doesn’t care enough to do something. Roads are still relatively bad, the police still wrongfully arrest, assault and harass innocent citizens. Name it, it’s still happening and we are as usual doing “siddon look” (abi these days it’s “siddon tweet”).

5. There is time for everything. Time to rant and time to act. Time to petition and time to protest. Time to vote and time to protect those votes. Time to seek sustainable change and time to seek continuity….

6. Nigeria needs subsidies. Not in the form it was being offered and not necessarily for petroleum, but we do need them. Be it in form of agricultural inputs, unemployment benefits, manufacturing industry stimulus etc. European companies receive it and America subsidizes its indigenous businesses all the time. They are of course renamed to mitigate criticism but that’s just semantics.

7. You can quit your job (the one you hate), or your education and still be successful. My friend has a Bsc. Engr degree from the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, but he is a professional goal keeper in the Nigeria Premier League. Likes of Bill Gates, Benson Idahosa, and Lawrence Ellison are sterling examples of this truth. This is mostly true for people who have guts and already developed skills, and for who their school/job has been a distraction, a hindrance if you will.

8. You need to leave your family house. Your parents need you, yes, but they need you out of there even more than they realize it sometimes. Some of us have responsibilities that make us feel it’ll be cruel to leave at some point. Parents know this and they use it to blackmail their children emotionally. But ask yourself: is it better to be an entrepreneur/worker who can afford to pay for services for your parents or to be home offering them those services yourself?

9. We all need to be computer literate. It is a truth we’ve been hearing for almost a decade plus now. Few act on it, still fewer who act actually gain computer skills that are truly indispensable in the market. Yet in the next few decades, computers will replace a lot of processes and only the literate will survive.

10. Failure is overrated. I’ve never been an absolute optimist, but I know one thing. Listening to people discourage me has always been the surest way to get something done. When they say it can’t be done, that is the very moment it is doable. Permit me to digress a little as I feel some people can relate to the point I’ll make.
When I was still a kid, I didn’t have the knack for playing adventure games on handheld consoles (Nintendo Gameboys® really). But it didn’t stop me, I’d play a difficult stage repeatedly, over and over and over for weeks till I cleared it. That was the way I knew to succeed, to fail till success came.

11. Hard work sadly isn’t overrated. In whatever form, be it thinking up strategic innovation or even laborious manual work, it will yield results that being lazy won’t.

12. There are new skills in the labour market. Some of those on your CV aren’t skills. Some of them are too ambiguous to even sell you which is what your CV should do. Some are needed for a banking job and not a para-military job, so change your CV before sending out. One solution doesn’t fit all in this case. Presentations like having “articulate skills, analytical skills, good interpersonal skills” don’t do you any good on your CV because of ambiguity. Try earning skills like “attention to detail” “thinking on your feet” and “ability to ask questions and share knowledge” etc These are skills everyone is looking to employ nowadays. Well everyone worth working for anyway.

13. Stop thinking 7 days ahead and start thinking 7 years. Don’t let anyone discourage you using the biblical saying that one shouldn’t worry about what one would wear or eat the next day. The same bible says God showed Joseph seven years into the future so he’ll store enough food to feed the world. Moreover being anxious and planning aren’t the same thing.

14. We cannot all be leaders. No matter from which perspective you look at it, it is next to impossible. Following is a necessary sacrifice. Sometimes it is an honour. However we can all be good and responsible f

15. No matter how much faith we have in God it is not enough to make Nigeria better. Not unless we pray, fast, believe and ACT. Faith without deeds, like they say, is DEAD.

16. Some things are mutually exclusive; used in this context as a paraphrase for you can’t eat your cake and have it. The new age idea of “what is the essence of having my cake if I can’t eat it” is flawed. Of course you can eat your cake, just don’t expect to have it afterwards. For example, you can’t be a Pastor and still flirt with church members. You can’t avoid making difficult and/or pressured decisions all your life, then magically become a tremendously good leader or business man.

17. We are living in a fantasy called “potential”. Nigeria has huge potential, but that is just what it is………..potential. Other countries, Israel, Mauritius and Singapore have less but they are hitting targets regardless. Every now and then, a western figure makes an ego massaging statement of how Nigeria is positioned just rightly to grow or how Africa is waiting on Nigeria to kick start some economic revolution and we are satisfied, quoting it at every chance we get, like kids do to nursery rhymes. While in reality, It’s like holding a huge catapult drawn at for 53 years plus and expecting the walls of Jericho to fall.

18. The most important part of any idea is how to fund it. We all have ideas, some of us have a really cool ideas. Fewer of us have that one idea that will be a global hit. The one problem across board is access to funds. This is made even more difficult because we live on the other side of the Atlantic. Nonetheless, drawing investors is the only way to drive a project. So when you plan that breath taking idea, always factor in how to sell it, or you only have yourself to blame, plus the society is already how it is. It won’t change just so your idea can be executed.

19. Assumption is an evil spirit. It’s right up there with procrastination and laziness.

20. Finally, a well known truth: “To thine own self, be true”. By all means lie to save your skin like Abraham did about Sarah to the King of Egypt. Lie to your children to keep them from panicking in the face of danger. Lie on your CV to secure that job, you’ll learn on it. Lie to win that contract, the next bidder probably will if you don’t. But never…ever lie to yourself. This truth sadly cannot be over-emphasized.

ONE.org today launched one of the continent’s biggest musical collaborations ever, ‘Cocoa na Chocolate’, in support of a new campaign to boost investments in agriculture: ‘Do Agric, It Pays’. Nineteen of the top recording artists from across Africa, including D’Banj and Femi Kuti from Nigeria, DR Congo’s Fally Ipupa, Cote d’Ivoire’s Tiken Jah Fakoly, Kenya’s Juliani, and South Africa’s Judith Sephuma, have come together to help rebrand agriculture and tell African youth that their future lies literally beneath their feet—and in their hands.

The participating artists are: A.Y (Tanzania), Bufallo Souljah (Zimbabwe), Dama Do Bling (Mozambique), D’banj (Nigeria), Diamond (Tanzania), Dontom (Nigeria), Fally Ipupa (DRC), Femi Kuti (Nigeria), Judith Sephuma (South Africa), Juliani (Kenya), Kunle Ayo (Nigeria), Vusi Nova (South Africa), Liz Ogumbo (Kenya), Nancy G (Swaziland), Omawumi (Nigeria), Rachid Taha (Algeria), Tiken Jah Fakoly (Cote d’Ivoire), Victoria Kimanu (Kenya) and Wax Dey (Cameroon).

These artists are using their voices to inspire young people to join ONE.org, and tell political leaders ahead of the African Union summit in June that the time has come to adopt better agricultural policies that will help tackle youth unemployment, provide better support to small holder farmers, boost productivity, increase value chains, and help lift millions of Africans out of extreme poverty.
The song is available for download for free at www.ONE.org after signing the ‘Do Agric’ petition that tells African leaders to invest in our farmers, our food, and our futures.

Dr. Sipho S. Moyo, ONE.org Africa Executive Director, said: “These brilliant artists are role models who connect with African youths. Their voices, in support of African agriculture, are sending a powerful message to the young generation: it’s time for African leaders to scale up public investments in agriculture and ensure policy interventions are targeted to benefit smallholder farmers who provide 80% of the food we eat on the continent.

We all know that whole foods are best for our bodies, but believe it or not, there are actually some processed foods that are good for you too. Now, hold on a second- I’m definitely not promoting eating processed foods over whole foods. What I’m referring to are minimally processed foods that are made from 100% whole foods.

These foods are slightly altered from their original state, but for the most part very healthy for you. Some are actually quite helpful in a few ways if you’re looking to lose weight or just learning how choose healthier options at the supermarket. Pick up a few of these processed foods that are good for you and consume them with whole foods to get the best of both worlds!

1. UNSWEETENED ALMOND OR COCONUT MILK
These creamy, tasty milks are some of my favorite processed foods that are good for you. They contain no sugar, artificial ingredients, gluten, soy, dairy, or MSG, and have more calcium, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin D than dairy milk. Just remember to avoid light or regular versions since they have added sugar, and choose unsweetened versions instead.

2. FLAX MEAL
