Rachael John, 19, was arrested alongside her accomplice, a nine-year-old girl (names withheld), and according to a statement issued by Muyiwa Adejobi, the police public relations officer in the state, the suspects were neighbours of the baby’s mother at Egbe Street, Ijebu-Ode.

The police spokesperson said the arrest was effected by police detectives attached to Ilese Division, Ijebu-Ode at old toll gate, Ijebu-Ode, on Wednesday, after the infant’s mother reported to them that she noticed that the suspects had taken away her baby.
Vanguard reports that the police detectives subsequently traced the suspects to Ogbere, Ijebu-Ode, where they were caught and arrested.
“The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Val Ntomchukwu, has directed that the matter be thoroughly investigated without delay, and necessary action taken for justice to prevail in the case,” the PPRO was quoted to have said.
Another teenager recently confessed to have impersonated Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s on Facebook to defraud unsuspecting people.
