They may not make you look like Beyonce or Rihanna, but they'll at least make you look normal.

I was genetically unblessed with relatively sparse, not-quite-even eyebrows, a fact I've become even more painfully aware of as this Cara Delevingne-spurred full eyebrow trend has gained speed over the past couple of years.
So, I've set out on a mission to all eyebrows looks, at least, like a normal person's and, at best, like Lily Collins's. Which is a scary task. The thing is and perhaps this is partially due to the fact that ladies generally prefer a pretty minimalist makeup look - every time they tried to fill in their brows with a brow pencil, they wind up looking more or less like this.

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/11-eyebrow-fillers-here-are-best.html

Seriously, I related more to that "Girl" scene than almost any other. Basically, it looks very fake and very insane, at least in my mind.

It turns out, though, that there are now a wide array of eyebrow-filling products on the market, from pencils to pens to powders to gels.

Some are comprised of just one magic little wand, while others come in handy portable sets. So, I called in a bunch of them, and wrote about what the girls experience, basing critique on easiness of use and normalness of brow appearance post-use.

Also know that I'm no eyebrow-filling expert, by any means. while I've glanced at a couple of online tutorials, I don't really know what I'm doing becos am a guy lols. Thus, easy application was very important.

So without further ado, read on for rundown of the best products, See More

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/7-health-benefits-of-watermelon.html
Watermelon might be a summer fruit, but you tend to be able to find it all year round and you really ought to take advantage of its availability because, as it turns out, watermelon is incredibly good for you.

So what are the health benefits of watermelon? Well, for one thing, it can help lower blood pressure in the obese. It’s also a natural diuretic that can help hydrate your body. It’s also a great sweet treat that’s still incredibly low in calories, and practically free from cholesterol and fat.

On a side note, if you’re having a little trouble in the bedroom, the fruit even works as a natural aphrodisiac and a natural Viagra when circulation is the problem.

1. L-citruline: Watermelon contains an abundance of an amino acid called L-citruline.

2. Alleviates high blood pressure.

3. Diuretic: Watermelon is a natural diuretic (as if the name isn’t a straightforward giveaway) and good for hydration.

4. Natural Viagra: In the area of improved circulation, one study has found that watermelon has Viagra-like effects where increased circulation is a necessity.

5. Vitamin and mineral rich: The body needs all sorts of vitamins and minerals to function.

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/in-luxury-world-chanel-and-vuitton-were.html
In the luxury world, Chanel and Vuitton were the only labels whose valuations have increased in the last year.

In the luxury world, the top dogs are exactly who you might expect them to be. According to a new ranking from the research group Millward Brown and the advertising conglomerate WPP, Louis Vuitton — the crown jewel in the luxury conglomerate LVMH's portfolio — is worth an estimate $24.7 billion, making it the most valuable brand in the sector.

To calculate a brand's value, the study looks at corporate earnings, its potential for future earnings and qualitative factors like meaningfulness, distinctiveness and salience that speak to consumers' attitude toward purchasing its products. For brands like Vuitton that are part of a larger company, figuring out that financial value is a matter of figuring out its percentage contribution to overall sales.

Trailing behind Vuitton, there's Hermès ($19 billion), Gucci ($13 billion), Chanel ($9 billion), Rolex ($8.5 billion), Cartier ($7.6 billion), Prada ($6.5 billion), Burberry ($5.7 billion), Michael Kors ($3.8 billion) and Tiffany ($3.2 billion). Perhaps more telling than the brands' valuation, however, is their movement within that list in the last year. Vuitton and Chanel were the only labels whose brand value increased, growing 6 and 15 percent respectively. The others all sunk.

Prada's valuation dropped the most — 35 percent, which dragged it down from fourth place in 2014 to seventh this year. Chanel, seventh last year, leapfrogged up to fourth in its stead. While slowed luxury spending in China and Russia took a toll on most brands, Chanel has made moves to curb gray market selling by cutting its prices in China, a smart move according to Millward Brown.

Of course, luxury fashion is not the most valuable sector in the world. That would be technology, which also happens to be the fastest growing area. And the top brand? Apple, of course.

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/mr-udom-emmanuel-inaugural-address.html
We have come together not to celebrate the triumph of a party, but to celebrate the victory of hope. The inspired hope that there is a divine promise, which binds us together in cords of love and brotherhood.

Hope that the blades and daggers of politics can never break the bonds of our kinship. Hope that on this majestic occasion of the transition of power, signifying a glorious end as well as a hopeful beginning, we can renew our faith in the akwa ibom dream.

When our ancestors left Usakedit in the Cameroons, centuries ago, in search of better land, they bequeathed into the genes of every akwaibom person a dream of a better estate.

In search of a better estate, our forefathers became the first people to agitate for the creation of States in Nigeria. In search of a better estate, they became the first people to build community schools in our country. in search of a better estate, they became the first people to establish community scholarship schemes to educate their children.

Today, in search of better estate, we have, under the transformational leadership of His Excellency, Governor Godswill Akpabio, become first among equals in the comity of state in our country.

But the demand of history is that he who is first in a race must forever run faster than those who are behind , or risk losing his leadership position. So I place a demand on all akwa ibom people, at home and abroad, to come with hoes and shovels, and let us bury the twin evils of ethnicity and tribalism, which could slow us down in the race of development.

At the same time let us sow the seeds of brotherhood, love and unity, which will energize us to maintain our current momentum and leadership position. Let us remember that with the spirit of brotherhood, love and unity, no foe can defeat us, and no rival can overtake us.

My dear compatriots, our Heavenly Father, history and posterity will not forgive our generation if we fail to continue the search for a better estate and pursuit of a greater akwa ibom State. This search we anchor on the timeless promise that whoever asks shall receive, whoever seeks shall find and who ever knocks, it shall be opened unto him.

This promise is therefore, God-given, and it is large enough to shelter every boy and girl, man and woman, young and old from the scorching heat of injustice. as we seek to build a greater state founded on prosperity and justice, we should be reminded that in this Land of Promise, God will surely honor His own.

Therefore, today we celebrate the triumph of the akwa ibom spirit over the murky waters of politics. We were troubled, but we were not distressed; perplexed but we did not despair; persecuted but we were not forsaken; cast down but we were not destroyed.

Today we stand tall because the trial of our faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it was tried with fire, was found unto praise and honor and glory. Let us therefore, stand together in the praise and glory of our heavenly father, knowing that he who began a good work in us, is faithful to complete it. Let us give God praise and glory and honor.

To those who stood by us in the long walk to this day, we appreciate your unwavering confidence, steadfastness, loyalty, trust and faith. to the few who were not with us, we remind them that the good people of our state have spoken and the voice of the people is the voice of God. To my former political opponents, I urge them and their supporters to let partisan feelings yield to patriotism.

We hold out our hands to them. It is the planting season in the akwa ibom family and they are invited to come and plant with us. We do not have to see eye to eye in order to walk hand in hand. I therefore, beckon on us all to please come and let us build together.

I stand before you today not as a master but as a servant and not as a boss but as a co-labourer. I accept, with great humility and sense of responsibility, the mandate you have freely given to me to hold power in trust for you are your Governor.

You have kept your part of the covenant and I intend to keep my part by executing the programmes i enunciated to you during my official declaration to run for the office of Governor. These include:

1. To leverage and build on the Uncommon Transformation of the Governor Godswill Obot Akpabio administration.

2. To transform the economy of our State via industrialization and sustain public-private sector initiative, thereby opening up opportunities for growth and improved living standards.

3. To respect and uphold the tenets of democratic governance which our great party (PDP) unflinchingly stands for, as well as respect the party’s structure, decisions and hierarchy.

4. To ensure the security of lives and property of the people at all times, while adhering to the principal of the rule of law, thereby ensuring equity, justice and fair play.

5. To promote unity and oneness across the State, with due respect for Traditional Institutions and the Elders of our Society.

6. To continuously develop mobilize, and empower our women and the youths via planned and well articulated welfare and capacity-building programmes.

7. to give all akwa ibom persons (both within Nigeria and the Diaspora) a proud sense of belonging-built on good governance, economic advancement and due respect for the Fundamental Human Rights of all.

8. To pursue the taks of Rural Development and Integration with all vigour, bring the benefits and dividends of our democratic governance to every nook and cranny in the state, and provide basic amenities of life to all.

9. To ensure Accountability and Transparency in government by fighting and tackling corruption in all facets of our Administration.

10. To provide trade, commerce and tourism between akwa ibom and the rest of Nigeria, and in fact, the rest of the world.

11. To foster, develop, and maintain a good working relationship with both the legislative and the Judiciary arms of Government in the state, as well as ensuring an effective Local Government Administration for grassroots development, mobilization and empowerment.

12. To attract all possibly required Federal presence to akwa ibom State, by developing and sustaining a harmonious and very cordial relationship with the government at the centre.

Theses then are the milestones we have set for our democratic journey under my stewardship. We invite all of you to think of what you can do for our State to achieve these milestones, and not what our state can do for you. We urge you to keep this administration in your thoughts and prayers. We will gladly welcome your ideas and contributions.

We will accept your constructive and open-minded criticisms. akwa ibom State belongs to all of us, and it is only in the development of this State that we can attain our individual goals and aspirations.

Let me pay tribute to our immediate past Governor, His Excellency Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio, CON, with steady hands on the wheel of progress and development, he steered the ship of our dear state through ill and fair weather, and landed us on shores of uncommon achievements.

He became a metaphor for good governance and an abiding testimony that we can have a government not only by the people and of the people , but also for the people. Seldom in the chequered history of mankind has so many owed so much to one man. We owe him a debt of gratitude, which we can never hope to pay.

People gawk at what he has done and ask, “Can anyone fill the large shows he is leaving behind?” I don’t know whether we can, but we know where the shoes are pointed and we are all heading towards that direction.

Just yesterday, the akwa ibom State House of Assembly passed a resolution that this great architectural masterpiece, one of the many great infrastructures built by the Akpabio Administration, be named, Godswill Akpabio International Stadium” in celebration of his uncommon transformation of our State.

This was a reflection of popular sentiment, and the least we could do for His Excellency Governor Godswill Akpabio. I, therefore, in the discharge of the office invested in me, proudly give accent to this resolution and let this stadium be henceforth known, called and addressed as “Godswill Akpabio International Stadium”

In the same vein, I want specially appreciate his wife and our former First Lady, Her Excellency, Mrs. Ekaete Unoma Akpabio (Mkpouto akwaibom, the Most Supportive First Lady in Nigeria) for her motherly love and support for the akwa ibom project. She had lifted up many and has transformed lives. My wife and I pay tribute to her historic support for our cause and the actualization of this divine mandate.

We thank the PDP, our great party for the support of its national and state officers in actualizing this mandate. The PDP may have had a setback in Abuja, but we can turn into a fortune as it relates to akwa ibom State, the Gilgal of Nigeria to reinvent our party.

To our campaign Team led by the indefatigable statesman, role model and leader, His Excellency, Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga and other opinion leaders, we salute you. You charted the course for our victory by reminding our state that the promise of our State should be the inheritance of all akwa ibompeople. Thank you.

I equally thank all members of the outgoing State Executive Council, the State Legislature, the Judiciary, and the Local Government Officials, for the harmonious working relationship that we all witnessed in the tenure of the last administration. The cordiality made possible the uncommon transformation programme of the State Government. We equally congratulate the newly elected and returning members of the State House of Assembly on their resounding victory at the recent elections.

Once again, we thank all akwa ibom people for the trust and confidence, bestowed on us. We thank the Elders, the youths and the women for their support. We equally appreciate all the socio-cultural political groups who worked tirelessly to see the manifestation of this day.

So my compatriots, where do we go from here? We have come a long wa in the last eight years, but there are still some mountains before us. We will bring down the walls of Jericho. We will vanquish every Goliath in our way. Like Jesse Jackson said, “Will are tired of sailing our little boat, for inside the harbor bar.

We want to go out where the big ships float, out on the deep where the great ones are. And should our frail craft prove too slight for waves that sweep those billows over, we would rather go down in the stirring fight than drowse to death at the sheltered shore.”

Therefore, sound the trumpet and let it be known that being an akwa ibom person is not simply a matter of your parents coming fromakwa ibom, nut having the faith that you are a child or promise and a giant killer. Having the hope that in His time God makes all things beautiful. God is making all things beautiful in our time. We will go forth, not by our power or by our might, but by His Spirit and we shall do exploits.

Thank you all, and God bless you.

Long live akwa ibom State!!!

Long live the Peoples Democratic Party of Nigeria!!!

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!

Beau Biden, the son of Vice President Joe Biden, died Saturday night of brain cancer.  He was 46.
The younger Biden has suffered repeated tragedy in his life.  When he was 3, his mother and sister were killed in a car crash and he was badly injured.  His dad was sworn into the United States Senate at his bedside.

In 1987 Beau suffered a life-threatening aneurysm.  In 2010 he had a stroke.  He was diagnosed with brain cancer 2 years ago.

Beau had been an accomplished politician -- twice serving as Attorney General of Delaware -- and there was talk he'd become governor.

He was married with 2 kids.

After a trophyless season for the present world best. Cristiano Ronaldo can teach any guy a lesson ... assuming he doesn't have a hair on his body.
The 30-year-old soccer stud was showing his buddies some moves aboard a yacht in St. Tropez.  It's unclear if it's rooted in martial arts or The Village People, but either way he looks good for sure.

Cristiano was on board with Chloe Green, the Topshop heiress.  The boat is owned by her dad, billionaire Sir Philip Green.

Do you think he makes people shave before they walk up the gangplank?

Karrueche Tran got hot as fish grease Saturday night when we asked if she was allowed to still mug with men.
Karrueche was leaving 1OAK in West Hollywood when she bristled at the notion that Chris Brown scared her away from posting pics of herself with other guys.  You'll recall, Brown threatened Tyson Beckford a week ago after she posted a pic of the 2 of them in Vegas.  Chris later apologized.

Get this ... last night Chris and Tyson showed up at the same place -- the iHeartRadio Summer Pool Party in Vegas.  Unclear if they interacted, but no one left bloodied.

Speaking of blood, we joked with Karrueche about the fake blood on her lip ... it's all for a movie.

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/dr-okezie-victor-ikpeazu-ill-step-on.html
The newly sworn-in Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has fired a strong warning to any individual who plans to disrupt his agenda for the people of Abia state.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service held in his honour at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Eastern Union Conference Headquarters in Aba, Governor Ikpeazu said that his government was ready to step on toes to change the status of the Abians for good, PM news reports.

In his words, “If your legs are on the way, remove them before my arrival, in other not to have your toes stepped on”.

“I want God to make Abians to understand that if you want to eat an omelette, you must be ready to crack eggs.
I’ll Step On Toes That Stand On My Way - Ikpeazu

“I thank God that I am courageous enough to take these decisions. God being with me, I will serve Abia and the people of Nigeria with the fear of God.

“I will also take decisions that may not be very palatable but will let the guiding principle be, “Is it in the best interest of the greater majority of our people?”

Governor Ikpeazu noted that it was time for change in the state, “We have travelled so long on the wrong path, probably by events not caused by governments but caused by our people.

“This is the time to turn around because this is not going to be business as usual.

“We must change the way we think, the way we do things, the way we build our houses, we must have respect for our neighbours; in doing so, we will be more responsible,” he added.

According to the governor, he would report for duty in Aba on Monday and visit Umuahia on Tuesday.

This comes just after the governor banned courtesy visits to his home, saying he would no longer be available to receive any delegation coming for the purpose of congratulating him on his victory at the poll.

 http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/just-in-church-organises-3-hour-prayer.html
President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice president Yemi Osinbajo inauguration ceremony on May 29 marked a new beginning in Nigeria.
Following this development, members of the Christ Apostolic Miracle Church, Ikole, Ekiti State, on Sunday, organised a special prayer session for the new administration in its quest to transform the country.

The three-hour prayer held to commit President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo into God’s hand, was anchored by Pastor Olusola Adewumi.

Speaking at the event, Pastor Adewumi encourgaed Nigerians to pray for both leaders and the entire nation “because prayer is the only weapon to achieving success.

“This has become imperative because prayer remains the only spiritual weapon that can enhance the needed change Nigerians are clamouring for.

“The tasks before the new government are enormous and require the support of all Nigerians through prayers and obedience to the nation’s law.

“Let us abide by the constitution, be our brother’s keepers, be hard working at our places of work and pay our taxes when due.”

According to Pastor Adewunmi, Nigeria had been plagued by problems, but prayer was the only solution to solve the problems.

Turns out there's a guy named Josh Dugger who is a Chief Cryptologist Technician in the United States Navy. He's based in Virginia, not that far from the other Josh Duggar who's based in D.C.

Josh Dugger has become a target in the Navy.

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/josh-dugger-tormented-by-seamen.html
Navy Josh tells us the scandal has created all sorts of problems for him. For starters, his colleagues just won't let it go, to the point of harassment.

But the real abuse is coming from social media. His account has been overrun by haters, saying things like "You should be in jail." He says he's had to switch all the handles on his accounts.

Funny enough, Navy Josh -- who's married to Amy and has 2 daughters -- comes from a big family himself -- 9 kids, but not counting anymore.

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/former-president-goodluck-jonathan.html
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has finally shared his thoughts on the May 29 inaugural speech by President Muhammadu Buhari. The ex leader of the nation commented on the speech in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state, on May 30, 2015, Saturday.
Jonathan applauded President Buhari for pledging allegiance to all in his inaugural speech, adding that he was gladdened by the posture of the president.

“Buhari said that he does not belong to any clique, and I congratulate him for that statement.

“It shows that we should all rally around him to work towards the development of the country and make Nigerians happy,” Jonathan said.

I belong to nobody – the new president says.

“The president said that he belonged to everyone and to nobody. That is the kind of words we want from a leader. Thank God Nigeria’s democracy is advancing and we have gotten a leader that will take the issues of workers very seriously,” Tari Dounana, the Bayelsa chairman of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, said.

Ezekiel Ogbianko, the chairman of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) in Bayelsa:

“All Nigerians, especially RIFAN should cooperate with the new administration to move the country forward. I believe that if president takes actions on all he said, Nigeria will move forward.”

Rev. Samuel Ayadi, the Niger Delta coordinator of Artisanal Fishermen Association of Nigeria (ARFAN) was impressed by the presidential first message: “The speech raises a lot of hope and for the new president to even mention the Niger Delta issue shows that he cares.

“We, the fishermen, have showcased our challenges to him during his electioneering campaigns.

“We expect him to address pending oil spill compensations, especially the Bonga Spill incident and assist the traditional fishing sector to enable us contribute towards food security.”

It would be noted that Buhari’s inauguration and the first speech became the subject of discussion at various levels in and outside Nigeria. Many Nigerians were touched by it, while for others it was disappointing and looked like another set of presidential campaign promises.

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/breaking-news-explosion-rocks-moru-moru.html
An explosion has been recorded at the Moru-Moru market in the Gamboru area near Maiduguri.
Channels TV reports that the blast likely occurred when an improvised explosive device went off. Four people were said to have been killed.
However, witness Jafar Aminu told Premium Times that no casualties had been recorded:

“The explosion did not kill any one but injured four persons among whom one has his arm completely ripped off by the blast.”

Abbas Gava, an official of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria in Maiduguri, also confirmed the incident saying that “the explosive that went off may have been concealed in some of the piled up sacks of charcoal. But thank God the damage did not claim any life except four persons that got injured with one losing the whole of his hand”.

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/breaking-news-explosion-rocks-moru-moru.html

Nigerians wonder how the new government is going to deal with the situation, in comparison with the immediate past administration.

The incident comes on the next day after suspected Boko Haram insurgents had carried out two attacks in Maiduguri, killing many people.

In the early morning of Saturday the militants attempted to invade Borno state capital. However, the attack was repelled by the military.

On the same day a suicide bombing was launched in a Maiduguri mosque.

Editors note: As Nigerians look forward to a new dawn in the administration of their newly sworn President, Muhammadu Buhari, a lawyer has picked holes in the first speech delivered by Mr. President. He wrote on Sahara Reporters.

Article Highlights

– The President has not addressed the real issues affecting our lives in Nigeria
– It would seem that the President is still on the soap box, whereby promises and promises and intentions, are the order
– Buhari would have outlined his main policy direction.

“I have read the Inaugural Speech of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd.), delivered immediately after his swearing in. It is gratifying that General Buhari has vowed to tackle the rot in the power sector, even though he did not give any direction on how to do that. By and large, it is my view that the President has not addressed the real issues affecting our lives in Nigeria.

It would seem that the President is still on the soap box, whereby promises and promises and intentions, are the order. He is the President of Nigeria now and my expectation was that since March 28, 2015, when he won the election, when he received the certificate of return from INEC, when he got assurances from Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, that his election would not be contested, General Buhari would have outlined his main policy direction. But alas, that has not happened today.

For instance, the President did not say anything on his foreign policy directive, on issues relating to global warming and climate change, the violence in the Middle East and the general global economic downturn. Also, the President was silent on the mode of tackling corruption, which indeed has been the main thrust of his electioneering campaigns; he was silent on the collapsing aviation sector, he kept mute on the unpaid salaries of millions of workers across the land, the huge debts that the Jonathan administration has bequeathed to him and indeed the main means of generating revenue, to run his government, apart from oil.

General Buhari gave no hint on the mode of reform of the judicial system and the administration of justice generally, the expected policy statement on NNPC did not come, and even the Boko Haram insurgency, to which the President devoted most of his speech, ended up in a policy disaster, of cause after effect; in that the President will only know the cause, origin and perspectives of the criminal organization, only after he has succeeded in killing them all.

In all, the Inaugural Speech became another campaign promise, a general rendition of statements of intention, without action. It was too vague and illusory, like a speech being delivered by a novice in power.

This is the President who has ruled this country as a Head of State, through a coup detat in 1983, and one that has sought to rule this nation since 2003, so he had all the time in the world, to have mapped out his cause of action and strategies.

This is surely not the speech expected from our GMB. In the coming days however, we expect more concrete reforms and ACTION”.

God bless Nigeria.

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/ndlea-has-explains-why-operatives.html
The Punch reports that NDLEA made a statement presented by Mitchell Ofoyeju, the head of public affairs, on May 29, Friday.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has explained why it finally pulled out its operatives from the house of Buruji Kashamu.

According to it, the agency withdrew from the Lekki, Lagos home of the Ogun state senator-elect “when it officially received a copy of the order from the court on Thursday, May 28, 2015.” However, the agency added that Kashamu’s attorney had signed an undertaking to produce the senator-elect in court for hearing.

“This is not the end of the case as the NDLEA has filed a formal extradition process at the Federal High Court. The Agency is following the due process of law and will ensure that national interest is balanced against the constitutional rights of Mr. Kashamu.

“The mission of the NDLEA is not and has never been to abduct him, but to engage the extradition process. The agency is taking necessary steps to ensure that Mr. Kashamu will be available to stand trial on extradition charges as required by law.

“To this end, the NDLEA has a provisional warrant of arrest on him as well as a formal request for his extradition. The honourable thing for him to do is to submit to the due process of the law as pledged.

“The NDLEA wishes to reiterate that it would comply with all court orders and not forcefully abduct and take him to the United States for trial.

“It is pertinent to state that the court did not prevent the Agency from embarking on extradition process against Mr. Kashamu.

The court held that the respondents cannot be restrained perpetually from arresting the applicant and that they were only restrained from arresting him without a warrant of arrest and for forcibly abducting and taking him from Nigeria without recourse to the due process of law as enshrined in the Extradition Act,” the statement read.

It would be recalled, that the siege on Kashamu’s house started on May 23, Saturday, in a bid to arrest and extradite him to the USA to face drug related charges. However, the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos declared the siege illegal and ordered to vacate Kashamu’s residence.

Meanwhile, the senator-elect is facing more trouble. The politician has been recently accused of forging documents for a landed property worth billions of Naira in Ajah area, Lagos state.

President Muhammadu Buhari said in his inauguration speech that until Boko Haram is defeated the army headquarters will be situated in Maiduguri, not in Abuja.
Buhari’s first decision as president of Nigeria is the order to relocate the military command centre from Abuja to Maiduguri immediately.

”The military command centre will not be situated in Abuja, but Maiduguri until Boko Haram is defeated”, he said.

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/why-patience-jonathan-was-missing-at.html
Patience Jonathan, who is always by her husband’s side, did not attend the inauguration ceremony of Muhammadu Buhari held at the Eagle Square.
Daily Post has obtained that even on May 28, Thursday, Mrs Jonathan had to be persuaded into following Goodluck Jonathan to the inauguration dinner.

A presidency source disclosed that the real reason behind her today’s absence at the Abuja venue is that Dame Patience could probably fail to control her emotions as it was painful for her to leave just after one term in office.

The source who pleaded for anonymity further narrated that after the yesterday’s dinner Jonathan’s wife broke down in tears. Apparently she did not want the situation to repeat at the Eagles Square, full of guests and cameras.

Another top source dismissed the allegations saying:

“Mama Peace has an important event to attend in Otuoke, their country home. You don’t expect her to attend the inauguration when people are waiting for her arrival back home. She is not aggrieved over anything and she is not the only First lady who could not attend the inauguration.

Her attendance is highly insignificant. I don’t know why you, press people are trying to make something out of that.”

Absence of “Mama Peace” caused uproar in social media. Nigerians lamented over the disrespect demonstrated by the top official of the country to the incoming government.

She is a Fulani from Adamawa state. Buhari and Aisha have only one son, Yusuf: the others are girls.

Yusuf bears a striking similarity to his father and appears to also have his jovial humour.
His first appearance broke on the internet. The girls are asking why the presidential campaign of the All Progressives Congress was hiding him so long.

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/meek-mill-denies-nicki-minaj-engagement.html
Meek Mill's relationship with Nicki Minaj is hardly the focus of his new cover story for The Fader, but given that he's half of the most speculated-about coupling in the hip-hop world, he couldn't really get out of a cover story without talking about it.
And Mill made his few words on Minaj count, officially denying that he's engaged to her, despite that enormous ring from him she wore on her wedding ring finger back in April (and those comments Drake made, which seemed to nod to an engagement).

"It ain't really time to get married yet," Mill said. "We're still learning each other, feeling each other out." He did, however, say the relationship was "definitely real" and that the engagement reports fooled his own grandmother.

Perhaps moving forward, he'll buy Minaj somewhat smaller non-engagement rings for her to wear on her wedding ring finger.

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/governor-aliyu-asks-fg-to-remove-fuel.html
Niger State governor, Dr. Babangida Aliyu, while commissioning a N620 million 3-star hotel developed by the Niger State Development Company Limited, NSDC, and the State Sure-P asked the Federal Government to deregulate the oil sector by removing subsidy on petroleum products.

He added that the removal of  the subsidy would reduce the black market system, thus allowing free and regular flow of petroleum products to all parts of the country.

He argued that the subsidy on petroleum product is currently being enjoyed by only a select few who have the necessary connections to the importers.
He said:

‘’Unless fuel subsidy is removed and we go back to the real market, we will continue to have the type of problem facing the country at the moment. Is it not an irony that we sell crude oil and end up buying refined petroleum from the international market?’’
In regards to power supply, the governor suggested the regionalism approach in the distribution of power instead of making all parts of the country to be on the same grid.

Aliyu said it was also sad to note that states that had the resources to construct power plants were being asked to plough the energy generated to the national grid and in return get  less than the mega watts they have generated for their state.

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/some-48-hours-to-inauguration-of.html
Some 48 hours to the inauguration of the Muhammadu Buhari administration, there seems to be a surge of activities in the land.

Governor-elect rejects N15b Govt House

Fashola, Ambode meet security chiefs

Suntai packs out of Govt House

APC to review governor’s ‘rush hour’ pacts

Dignitaries are arriving for the ceremony, which will take place at the Eagle Square in Abuja. Guinean President Alpha Conde arrived yesterday. The city’s streets are festooned with flags.

A committee has started the accreditation of the media for the historic event for which all the big hotels have been booked.

In states where new governors are to take office – incumbents will also take the oath of office – there is a build-up to the day. Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola and Governor-elect Akinwunmi Ambode met with security chiefs at the State House in Marina.

Fashola handed the security apparatus in the nation’s commercial capital to his would-be successor at a meeting of the State’s Security Council.

Fashola bade farewell to the Council, which he has headed since 2007.

Members of the Council at the meeting are: Commander 9 Mechanised Brigade, Ikeja, Brigadier General Ahmed Sabo; Commander AirForce 435 Base, Ikeja, Air Commodore Lere Osanyintolu; Commander NNS BeeCroft, Navy Commodore Teikumo Daniel Ikoli; Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Mr. Johnson Kokumo, who represented Commissioner of Police Kayode Aderanti and Director, State Security Service, Mr. Ben Olayi

Also there were: Chief of Staff to the Governor  Lanre Babalola; Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Ade Ipaye; Special Adviser on Security and Policing Matters Major Tunde Panox and Executive Secretary, Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Mr. Fola Arthur-Worrey.

In PlateauState, Governor-elect Simon Lalong has said he will not work from the new Government House in Jos, the state capital.

The governor-elect said the N15 billion property had not been completed, adding that he does not need such luxury to serve the people.

He said: “I am not going to occupy an uncompleted building as a government house. In any case, I don’t need such a house to work for the people of Plateau State.

“In serving Plateau people, I don’t need a luxury office. I’d rather prefer people of the state live in luxury homes with all social services provided. So, I don’t think a new government house is a priority of Plateau people. I don’t need such an office to serve my people.

“I was told that new government house has cost over N15 billion and it is still uncompleted. I can’t live in such an office when Plateau people have no water to drink, children are not going to school, civil servants are not paid, there is no medical care in rural areas and most villages have no roads. So, I don’t need such capital-intensive government house. Such a project amounts to a misapplication of scarce fund.”

Lalong said his administration would review uncompleted projects left by the outgoing Jonah Jang administration before completing them.

Jang had urged the incoming administration to complete ongoing projects before starting new ones.

But Lalong said: “I am going to complete all ongoing projects I am going to inherit. But I will have to review them and know the cost implication. The abandoned projects are numerous. I have to review all of them. I need to know which contractor is involved and how much has been spent so far on each of the projects.

“Governor Jang has claimed he is leaving a debt of over N8 billion for me, excluding the N28 billion bond he collected before the election. Then, he is owing the civil servants at least seven months of unpaid salaries and unquantified workers’ allowances and pensioners’ funds.

“On all these financial liabilities, I am going to set up a committee to review them and advise government accordingly.”

Also yesterday, the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) prevented Jang from inaugurating some projects for non-payment of workers’ salary.

The governor was billed to inaugurate a radio station at the Jos Campus of the State Polytechnic.

The aggrieved workers barricaded the entrance to the newly-built Revenue House of the State Internal Revenue Service.

A spokesman for the workers, Mr Paul Dakogal, who is also the Chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (SSAN), said: “It is inappropriate for Jang to inaugurate any project. Governor Jang did not contribute any resource in facilitating the project. How then can he inaugurate it?

“When we heard that the governor planned to inaugurate a radio station, among other projects in the state, despite the workers’ strike, we decided to stop that nonsense.

“He has not paid workers for more than a year and students are at home because of strike. Yet, he intended to inaugurate projects.”

Dakojal recalled that for four years, the polytechnic could only produce two sets of graduates.

Dakojal said the Education sector in Plateau had deteriorated in the past eight years.

TheNiger State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) plans to review what it called “rush hour” agreements or Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) by outgoing Governor Babangida Aliyu with any company or individual.

The party kicked against the lease of the new state-owned hotel opposite the Government House in Minna to a private firm to manage for 30 years.

In a statement yesterday in Minna, the state capital, by its Publicity Secretary Jonathan Vatsa, the party said it discovered that the hotel was built from the Subsidy Reinvestment Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) funds given to the state.

APC alleged that the facility was leased to a private firm with interest to the outgoing Aliyu administration.

APC said it would have disregarded the outgoing government’s last-minute moves but needed to lay everything before the people to promote accountability and fight corruption.

It said: “We feel that the people of the state should be aware before our party takes over government.”
The statement warned that “all MoU and agreements signed at rush hours that are outright rip-off of the state’s scarce resources and/or against the interest of the state will be duly revisited”.

It added: “We will not allow few individuals to make the majority of Niger residents to suffer. Rather, it will be that the few will suffer for the good of the majority of the people of Niger State.  This is even divine. We will, by the grace of God, restore the glory of Niger State, even if few people are to suffer for it.

“The era of digital charades aimed at benefiting the few is over. We shall not be party to unrealistic agenda in the name of setting the state on the path of development. Wwe know we cannot do it alone. As such, we will carry along all Niger residents on the path of change for restoration.”

Also, the party expressed concern over the re-absorbtion of some retired top civil servants into the civil service – all aimed at creating problems for the incoming government.

Benue State Governor-elect, Samuel Ortom warned those wishing to work with his administration to focus on service rather than money.

Speaking with our reporter ahead of May 29 inauguration in his Makurdi home, Ortom said his administration would not condone “primitive accumulation of wealth by political appointees and public office holders”.

The governor-elect said it is morally wrong for a Level Seven officer in the civil service to acquire expensive property and live an ostentatious lifestyle.

He said such a government official would arouse questions about where he or she got the funds for such a lifestyle.

Ortom said his administration would fight corruption and flush out corrupt officials so that the people could enjoy quality living.

The governor-elect urged those planning to use his administration to make money to go into private businesses and become richer.

He said he had a vision in 1992 to become the governor of Benue State.

According to him, his coming to the Government House in Makurdi is a divine arrangement.

Ortom promised not disappoint the people and God, who made his dream come true.

The governor-elect also promised to rule with the fear of God, eradicate poverty, ensure fairness to all, run a transparent government and promote love and unity.

His priorities, he said, include the creation of wealth, restoring peace, growing micro-industries and promoting massive trading so that people would not depend on government alone.

“I have been around for a while and I’m conversant with the challenges. I will do things that will add value to the people and put smiles on their face,” Ortom said.

TarabaState Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai has packed his personal effects from the Government House in Jalingo, ahead of Friday’s handover.

Suntai has been recuperating at the Government House as a ceremonial figure, following the injuries he sustained when a plane he piloted crashed near Yola, the Adamawa State capital, on October 25, 2012.

The governor started packing his belongings on Monday and continued yesterday.

His wife, Hauwa, held a “strictly by invitation” farewell party last week with 30 women in attendance.

Suntai will complete two terms of eight years on Friday without building a personal house.

His deputy, Abubakar Sani Danladi, who has been acting, bought a house for him in Jalingo, where his belongings were packed to.

Taraba residents called for “special prayers” for him and his successor, Governor-elect Darius Dickson Ishaku, for a peaceful transition.

The prayers, offered in churches, began last Sunday.

Scores were killed when the March 28 election was declared as inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), even as Ishaku, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was leading the only woman candidate and flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Aisha Alhassan.

Ishaku’s supporters did not throw a party to celebrate when he won by a runoff with an aggregate of 369,318 votes.

“Now, we want to celebrate. People should be allowed to jubilate and celebrate when they triumph in an election.

“We were not allowed to celebrate the victory. Rather a curfew was imposed for a week.

“Before the rerun election, our supporters were killed because they were celebrating victory. The inauguration should not be the same, Peter Ada, a trader, told The Nation yesterday.

Ada urged the Acting Governor Abubakar Sani Danladi to strengthen security to protect lives and property during the inauguration

 http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/lolz-governor-adams-oshiomole-swear-in.html
A mild drama ensued in the Edo State government house yesterday, May 26, as newly wed Governor Adams Oshiomole suspended the chairman of Etsako West Local Government Area, just minutes after he was sworn in, Punch reports.
According to Daily Independent, the suspended chairman, Alhassan Mohammed, whose suspension will last for two months, was sworn in to replace the former chairman of the council, Alhaji Hassan Kadiri, who died last week.

PM News reports that, the governor said: “I have just performed the task of swearing in the vice chairman of Etsako West Local Government as the substantive chairman of the local government following the death of the chairman, Alhaji Hassan Kadiri, who passed away last week Friday.

“This afternoon I have performed a task with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I had the privilege of having to swear in a Chairman and on the other hand I am pained by the loss of someone who worked so hard for this party and who believed so much in his community but what made me even more sad is the fact that there were controversies as to what happened the very day that Hassan passed away.

“Some disgruntled elements whether they were masquerading as student union government officials or they were just touts and thugs, were hired by some persons to organise a protest that was almost turning violent such that they had to bring in the police and even the army to intervene to restore peace in the local government”.

He continued: “I was informed that the purpose of this protest was that Hassan on his sick bed should be relieved of his duties as chairman so that the vice chairman could take over his job. I do not think human beings should play God. Today, I am hale and hearty and I thank God for being here to be able to sign what I have to sign, this is not by my strength, it is only by the grace of God.

“But what will become of me in the next hour I cannot say, I can only pray that I remain strong and healthy and I guess my story is the story of every human being.

“So for me, it is absolutely unacceptable that anyone will be so desperate as to instigate another to protest against a man that is bedridden and admitted in the hospital fighting for his life. Our jobs are worthless without life and all of us have our dates to depart this planet earth. So, for anyone to organise a protest against someone who is bedridden that he should be forced out of office so that another person will get promotion is unethical, and absolutely unacceptable and to publicly organise a protest against the sick making unprintable statements, disturbing the public peace and mobilising people to do things that are capable of leading to riots with the possibility of even death, that, for me, is the height of irresponsibility and I do not think any civilized government will condone that.”

The comrade governor as Oshiomole is popularly called, further noted that: “Therefore in exercise of the powers vested on me as the governor of Edo State under the Local Government Amended Acts, where there are weighty allegations against Local Government Officers, I have powers to carry out a thorough investigation on those allegations because we know for a fact that to allege does not necessarily mean to prove. Allegations must be proven before further actions can be taken.

“I do not have all the facts as to whom and who are responsible for these protests but I know there was a protest that could have easily destabilized the entire local government with serious implications for community relations. However who is behind it, though we know the characters that were on the street, at least some of them, we do not know the characters behind those who were on the street. As our people say, for every bat that is dancing on the road, there is someone beating the drum in the bush nearby. It is the drummers that we now must go for.

“The name of the former vice chairman who is now the chairman has been mentioned by different persons as being responsible for financing and instigating students who are supposed to be on vacation and who are on vacation to come back and carry out those protests in order to force the resignation or the removal of the chairman that was bedridden.

“As a matter of conscience, therefore, I have decided that these allegations have to be investigated and under the Local Government Amendment Acts, while these investigations are going on, the chairman has to be suspended. I have served him his suspension letter, he stands suspended with immediate effect and I will be announcing a Commission of Enquiry that we investigate all the issues that led to that protest. Until then, depending on the findings of the Committee, the Vice Chairman that has just been sworn in will act as the Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Area in accordance with the Local Government Amended Act”.

He appealed to the people to maintain calm and ensure peace in the local government, saying: “I want to appeal to our people, let no one do anything to undermine the peace and stability of Etsako West Local Government. If anybody does anything that leads to any crisis, be assured that I have the political will to get the police not only to arrest but to thoroughly investigate and the person will be diligently prosecuted and if convicted he will go to prison in accordance with the laws of Edo state.

“This government will not submit to political sentiments. We must respect people even on their sick bed and anyone who seeks to profit from the misfortune of others does not have my backing. So I want to appeal to all concerned to maintain the peace, we have an open mind, we will select men and women of integrity as members of the Administrative Panel and their report, when forwarded to me, will be submitted to the State House of Assembly which has the responsibility to go through it together with my recommendations and they will decide the way to have this matter finally settled.

“This will last for a period of about two months in accordance with the provisions of the law. In our culture and religion, when you have lost someone known to us, we don’t celebrate, we don’t presume, it is a moment for sober reflection, it is a moment to remind us that all of us are candidates but we do not know when our moment will come and he who laughs today might be the one to cry tomorrow, so let nobody jubilate nor should we also go rioting because someone has passed on.

“I have acted in good faith and I believe that our people in Etsako West should not doubt my sincerity of purpose. I have a duty to maintain peace in every part of the state and this action is meant to show that this government will not reward those who wish ill for others. We should be our brother’s keepers,” Oshiomhole concluded.

Meanwhile, popular fuji musician, Pasuma has dedicated his new song to Oshionole and his new wife.  The song had been ready for a while, but was delayed because the musician decided to dedicate it to the governor and his new wife.

http://bobbyandthingz.blogspot.com/2015/05/president-jonathan-receives-peace-award.html
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Tuesday was presented with another award “Peace Loving Global Citizen” for his decision in accepting defeat at the 2015 presidential election.
The award was presented to the President by the Universal Peace Federation(UPF) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

President Jonathan at the event urged the incoming administration to accept the contributions of all Nigerians to the progress and development of the country.

“We have a country, the country will be more united. I believe and only pray that the incoming government should appreciate the contributions of everybody and see how we will run Nigeria as a country that belongs to everybody and all citizens irrespective political persuasion.”

While commending the group for the honour, President Jonathan said the Vice-President Namadi Sambo also deserved the honour, saying that his decision to accept defeat also affected him, adding that his party the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also deserves the encomium award.

President Jonathan said that the reason he accepted the result of the election is because there must be a nation first before any ambition.

According to him, he said when he leaves office, the remaining part of his life will be dedicated to issues that would bring unity and peace to the country.

Speaking at the event the leader of the group, Mike Ozekhome, said the president deserved global recognition following his decision to accept defeat in the just concluded election. He also noted that Nigeria is now respected in the comity of nations not just because of the president’s achievements but because of his decision.
