The general overseer of the Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN), Prophet T.B. Joshua, has revealed some things that will happen soon following the elections in Nigeria.
Speaking to his congregation on Sunday, March 29, 2015, the prophet said, he is seeing the death of a prominent politician due to ‘heated up’ politics in the wake of the closely fought Nigerian elections.

“I am seeing Nigerians heating up politics.

“They will heat up politics and a great man among the politicians will likely lose his life… I am seeing this kind of thing happening in the night.

“Wednesday and Thursday of this coming week and next week, make sure you fast and pray.”

Joshua stated this just before the close of his church service at 7pm in a message broadcast live via Christian television station Emmanuel TV.

He urged members of his congregation to remain prayerful on those specified days so as to save souls.

Earlier in the service, the cleric reminded congregants of a prophetic message he had shared last year concerning a ‘dark cloud’ hovering over Nigeria. He said God is beginning to remove the cloud.

Explaining what the ‘cloud’ represented, Joshua stated that it meant a situation whereby two political parties would declare themselves as election winners, leading to a state of ‘lawlessness’.

“Whoever wins the race, let us put Nigeria first, the nation first.

“The dark cloud I saw last year was two declarations but I can see the finger of God. Thank you for your prayers.”

He urged his congregants to avoid violence, and not allow themselves be used by politicians to cause bloodshed, while adding that do or die is not politics.

The man of God said: “There is a difference between your faith and politics.

“Don’t play politics as if it is your faith. ‘Do or die’ is not politics. Politics is a game. When you lose, you say, ‘Thank You, Jesus’; when you win, you say, ‘Thank You, Jesus’.

“Your future and the future of this nation – Jesus will ask you to give account. What we are doing now is for generations yet unborn. Don’t trade this future for money, thuggery or corruption.”

T.B. Joshua also predicted that an international terrorist will be captured.

“A criminal they have been looking for, for many years, who has been terrorizing the world – I am seeing him being caught and displayed to the world on international media,”  he announced.

Before the elections, the cleric had warned Nigerians to be aware of fake political party people, saying he foresees a plane crash.

Pastor T.B. Joshua is famous both in Nigeria and abroad for his religious activities. He performs miracles and conducts deliverance. The cleric also makes predictions about events that will take place on the national and international stage.

Counting of the ballot papers has commenced in different states across the country and was still continuing into the late hours of Saturday, even as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended voting until Sunday, March 29, in states where card readers failed.
UPDATE: Attahiru Jega, the INEC chairman, took part in a press conference in the evening of March 29, 2015, Sunday.

The key quotes from the event regarding the announcement of the results are given below:

“We will use the same collation method we used in 2011 for this election.”

“We will not commence collation unless stakeholders are informed. The media will be there when we start collation.”

“We don’t know if we will do collation tonight or tomorrow. When they come we will take them in batches.”

“As I speak, very very few results have been collated. The info we have is that only 2 states have finished collation.”

“We are not under any pressure to declare elections inconclusive.”

“We will release results as soon as they are processed, within 48 hours, as promised, countdown started on Saturday’s eve.”

“It is only the INEC that can make the final declaration of the winners of the election.”

DISCLAIMER: PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS RESULT BELOW IS NOT THE FINAL RESULT OF THE ELECTIONS, AS IT COULD BE UPDATED ANYTIME

Results from different local government areas across the country so far.

ABUJA Results from Nigeria's elections, potentially the closest contest since the end of military rule in 1999, were due to start trickling in on Monday after a weekend vote marred by confusion, arguments and sporadic violence.
The election pits President Goodluck Jonathan against former military ruler Muhammadu Buhari for the favour of an electorate divided along a complex mix of ethnic, regional and in some cases religious lines in Africa's most populous nation.

Even before preliminary tallies were recorded, the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) rejected the outcome in Rivers state, headquarters of Africa's biggest oil industry, and denounced the vote there as "a sham and a charade".

The INEC election commission said the first results collated from 120,000 polling stations nationwide should be available on Sunday evening although this failed to materialize.

Turnout among the 56.7 million registered voters appears to have been high.

The tension in Rivers state raises the prospect of a disputed national outcome and a repeat of the violence that erupted after the last election in 2011, when 800 people were killed and 65,000 displaced in the mainly Muslim north.

The APC reported violence in Rivers and blamed it on "armed militias" backed by the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP). "Whatever trash will (be) announced as the result of today's election is not acceptable to us," it said.

The PDP did not respond to requests for comment.

An hour later, hundreds of sympathizers chanted "APC" outside the electoral commission office in the oil city of Port Harcourt, prompting police to fire warnings shots. One group stoned a car they thought carried ballots.

‎"There was no election in Rivers," APC polling agent Achinike William-Wobodo said, calling for a re-vote.

In a sign the opposition will challenge results elsewhere, the APC governor of the southern Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, denounced on television the conduct of the election in his region and accused the military of meddling in the result.

INEC chairman Attahiru Jega said he was concerned about the Port Harcourt complaints, which alleged that opposition agents were kicked out of vote-tallying meetings, and had launched an investigation.

In Kaduna, the northern city worst-hit by the 2011 post-election violence, the streets were virtually devoid of traffic and many shops were shuttered.

When it comes to debunking negative relationship rumors, often actions speak louder than words...
With his hand resting firmly on her butt, Will Smith shared a searing kiss with wife and award recipient Jada Pinkett Smith onstage at BET's 2015 Black Girls Rock! show on Saturday, drawing cheers from the audience.

The 46-year-old actor, who has showcased PDA with the actress at celebrity events before, gave Jada a touching tribute (well, another one) before presenting her with the Star Power Award and addressed past rumors about alleged marital issues between them, which have sprung up several times over the years and which they had always denied.

Will said that last year, as the two lay in bed one morning, he received a Google Alert for a report that stated Jada had filed for divorce. He said in that moment, he started to imagine what his life would have been like without her. He also said he was "happy to be standing here today" and happy the divorce report was false.

Will shared heartwarming memories of Jada: He said he thought about how they met. At the time, she starred in A Low Down Dirty Shame." Will said he knew he "needed her" after watching her in the '80s sitcom A Different World. He went on to say he also thought about him watching her give birth to their two children and rock out as the lead singer of a band. Jada, using the name Jada Koren, formed the nu metal band Wicked Wisdom in 2002.

She and Will are parents to son Jaden Smith, now 16, and daughter Willow Smith, now 14. She and Jada's mom, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, accompanied the couple at the event.

In her acceptance speech, Jada, 43, talked about their daughter, saying she encourages the teen to be open, honest and ask questions and that her child tells her, "I am you. You are me. We are one."

The actress said organizations such as Black Girls Rock are important for so many reasons and brought up a recent incident in which Bloomsburg University baseball player Joey Casselberry joked in a tweet that teen Little League World Series star Mo'ne Davis was a "slut."

"We have a long way to go," she said.

The player was dismissed over his remark, while Davis responded in a truly inspiring, classy way.

"If you want people to treat you like a queen, you have to act like one," Jada added.

PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria - Confusion and sporadic violence blighted Nigeria's tensest presidential election since the end of army rule, with opposition supporters disputing results on Sunday from a turbulent southern state even before they were announced.
The opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state accused supporters of President Goodluck Jonathan of being behind killings of its campaigners, and denounced the vote there as "a sham and a charade".

Dismissal of the vote in Rivers - the centre of Africa's biggest oil industry - raises the prospect of a disputed national outcome and the risk of a repeat of the violence that erupted after the last election in 2011, when 800 people were killed and 65,000 displaced in the mainly Muslim north.

Hundreds of protesters chanted "APC" outside the main INEC electoral commission office in Port Harcourt, watched by dozens of police. Senator Magnus Abe accused the ruling party of intimidation.

‎"There was no election in Rivers," APC polling agent Achinike William-Wobodo told Reuters, calling for a fresh ballot.

In a sign the opposition will challenge results elsewhere, the APC governor of southern Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, denounced on television the conduct of the election in his region and accused the military of meddling in the result.

There was no immediate comment from INEC.

Kano and Kaduna, the northern cities worst-hit by the 2011 violence, were calm.

Voting in Saturday's election was extended into Sunday at a relatively small number of polling stations after technical glitches hit voter ID machines.

Islamist Boko Haram militants also killed more than a dozen voters in the northeast, while at least two people were shot dead in Port Harcourt, a city with a long history of political thuggery.

The vote pits Jonathan against former military ruler Muhammadu Buhari for the favour of an electorate divided along a complex mix of ethnic, regional and in some cases religious lines in Africa's most populous nation.

It is also the first time since the end of military rule in 1999 that an opposition candidate has had a serious chance of unseating the incumbent, raising the stakes compared to previous years.

Buhari's APC reported violence in Rivers state and blamed it on "armed militias" backed by Jonathan's People's Democratic Party (PDP).

"Whatever trash will (be) announced as the result of today's election is not acceptable to us," the APC concluded. "A sham and a charade."

PDP officials did not respond to a request for comment and it was not possible to corroborate the claim independently.

Islamist insurgents launched several attacks on voters in the northeast on election day, killing three in Yobe state and 11 in neighbouring Gombe, including an opposition parliamentary candidate.

The militants, who are trying to establish an Islamic caliphate, reject democracy and their leader Abubakar Shekau has threatened to kill voters. Read More

Suspected members of Boko Haram sect yesterday launched separate attacks on voters in Gombe and Yobe states, killing 10 people including an All Progressives Congress (APC) member seeking re-election into the Gombe State House of Assembly, and a policeman.
Alhaji Umar Aminu  and five voters  were  shot dead in his Dukku South constituency by the terrorists who were quoted by eye witnesses as saying : ‘Didn’t we warn you about staying away from (the) election?” as they pulled the triggers.

Three people including the policeman were killed in Birin Bolawa and Birin Fulani villages in Nafada Local government area of the state.

The insurgents had apparently crossed into the state from Yobe after a similar attack in Ngalda where the state police commissioner Danladi Marcus said one person was killed.

There was confusion in the areas as some voters left the polling units but others later returned to be accredited, sources said.

Eye witnesses said the insurgents left on the Dukku-Darazo road after the attack.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Gombe State, Fwaje Atajiri, confirmed the report, adding that details of the incident would be given after investigations were completed.

There was an attack on the outskirts of Nafada in attempt to disrupt the elections,” Mr. Atajiri, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said. “A joint team of military and police officer promptly moved to Dukku and pushed the insurgents to the bush.”

Mr. Atajiri said elections were going on in the area and other areas of the state as the Special Forces were in control of the situation.

Reacting to the death of his colleague, member representing Akko North Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Gidado Lawanti, described his death as unfortunate.

In a video she posted on her instagram page a few days ago, Dillish Mathews, who won the grand price of $ 300k as winner of the 2013 Big Brother Africa contest, said the money is finished
“Read about what I did with my money that I got from Big Brother? It’s finished. A couple of Rolexes, kept going to Milan, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai…it’s finished. Kaput!” she said.

Hopefully, she’s just joking. Watch the video after the cut..

What do you think?

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has charged Nigerians to totally disregard misleading figures being circulated by the APC in the social media as results of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some polling booths.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh in a statement on Sunday said the figures were “fake and do not represented the true results which are currently being collated by INEC, the only body authorized to release and announce results”.

“The APC in its desperation for power has resorted to posting fake results in the social media in a bid to ambush the electoral commission, mislead the unsuspecting public to believe it is winning, all in furtherance of its grand plot to cause confusion and set the stage for violence when the authentic results are finally released.

“We therefore alert Nigerians to be on their guard and close ranks in resisting the APC’s plot to plunge the nation into chaos and anarchy.  Our democracy has come to stay and the will of the people must prevail over and above the parochial ambition of a selfish few.

“Finally, we strongly caution the APC against its acts of desperation and use of dishonest methods including physical attacks against our members and supporters as these pose great threat to our democracy, the unity and stability of our dear nation.

Signed:

Olisa Metuh

National Publicity Secretary

Not much is known about the as-yet untitled sequel to Star Trek Into Darkness except that it has an entirely new creative team behind it, as director J.J. Abrams and writers Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof busy themselves with other franchises. We probably know who’s going to play the villain, however, and that’s Idris Elba.

News of Elba’s involvement comes from Variety, whose sources say that the actor is in “early talks” (Hollywood speak for “unless we disagree over contract it’s a done deal”) to play the lead villain in Star Trek 3. An official announcement might not be far off, though it could always go the way of Benicio Del Toro declining to play the role of Khan in Into Darkness (the role subsequently went to Benedict Cumberbatch).

Returning cast members include the full bridge crew of Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto et al., including Simon Pegg, who shares a writing credit with Doug Jung for this installment. While primarily known as an actor, Pegg’s writing credits include Run, Fatboy, Run, and, of course, all three films in the Cornetto Trilogy, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End, so we can at least count on the film having a great sense of humor and some awesome action sequences.

A Canadian university is offering fans of Cristiano Ronaldo the opportunity to take a course in the Real Madrid star.

The University of British Columbia Okanagan is enrolling for a fourth-year sociology module on Ronaldo due to his popularity and influence on Portuguese and global society.

Luis LM Aguiar, associate professor of sociology in UBC Okanagan’s Irving K. Barber School of Arts and Sciences, said: “Sociology is nothing if not the delving into the processes of structuring identities and experiences and exposing the social forces that push these processes.

“In this case, I’m interested in how Ronaldo has been used to construct several discourses about who he is, what makes him distinct as a footballer, what is his relationship to Portugal, Madeira (his hometown) and indeed Portuguese identity.”

When I look back at my life, and all the stuff I did as a carefree, young and restless youth, I can’t help but shudder at some of my very bad habits. Yes, I was once short-fused; blowing off at the slightest provocation. It was pitiful. Over time I have managed to rid myself of such sad habits but that can’t be said for a lot of men some of who, even late in their lives can’t still get over it, thereby losing their cool in their homes.

Domestic violence is an under reported crime in Nigeria, almost accepted as norm. Some men feel it’s their right, some feel it’s always the women who bring out the beast in them, while others will readily admit its a way of stamping their authority in the home. Sadly, many don’t see anything wrong with beating their wives. How sad! Yes, am aware there are women who beat up their husbands, but those are in the minority and this piece ain’t about them. The most guilty perpetrators are usually men and the victims are mostly their wives and sometimes their children too.

Men abusing women is like a defence and coping mechanism for being or feeling WEAK in other aspects of life, sometimes including deep analog beliefs about masculinity. Men who abuse loved ones tend to blame other things or people for their violent outbursts. In some cases, it is a cycle: “my father abused me and my mom, so, it’s normal”.

Society doesn’t help either, it ingrains in a man’s psyche that macho bullshit; how he should be strong and if he can’t exhibit that in his daily public life, it’s ok for him to go home and prove his strength.
Abusive men are not limited to a particular status, it ranges from a bricklayer to a CEO or even a President, causing their women to perpetually live in anxiety and fear. Most of them tip-toe around their husbands, not because they respect these men, but because of fear.

A violent man might have grown up in a dysfunctional household but this is still not a reason to be abusive. It is an excuse, and a flimsy one at that.

Some men don’t come from humble homes where women are appreciated. Some of us come from homes that expose us to sex, gossip, male macho bullshit. Values for treating women start with where you’re coming from, your background. However, beyond these, what fucks most men up is our BIG FAT EGO. It has everything to do with selfishness or overrated feeling of self-importance. QED.

Ego is the source of many negatives in the world. It is the false ‘self’ that Jesus said we should let die before we can gain everlasting life. Ego craves to be first, but we must be willing to be last. Unconditional love comes with humility, selflessness, abundant generosity, perfect responsibility, fearless confidence.

I no go brag, am not all that, but I dey try. God knows!

Now, for the man who feels trapped in this mad dance with his loved ones and is trying very hard to rid himself of this very terrible habit, do like me. If you start to feel that your fuse is about to burst, try and say nothing, hold it in for a few minutes and relocate yourself to another space, either in your house, or outside. Allow some time to elapse before you express yourself, never talk or let your fist run amok when you’re upset; it doesn’t make for a good picture.

Even though I have cured myself of my short fuse, i still get tempted from time to time. What works best for me now is silence. I go and lock myself in my room and will never utter a word to my lady until am sure am in control of my faculties. Since many moons ago, I have discovered that this is a very effective option in dealing with a very bad temper.

So next time you are with your woman and you feel like turning her into a punching bag, change the game, beat her with your silence for the period you feel like blowing your fuse. Na my way be that oooooo.
This is just my take sha, how you see the matter my guys?

Let’s begin this discussion with observing how Leonardo DiCaprio brought in the New Year – on a beach in St. Barts with more models in bikinis than one could count, a never-ending flow of cocktails, cigars… the works. And all of this while his $400,000-per-week yacht idled nearby, ready to take him and his dozens of female friends wherever they wanted.

What better way to get over the devastating heartbreak of ending your relationship with model Toni Garrn (oh wait, he dumped her) than chilling on a beach with not a single other guy in sight, just letting your free spirited hair and long scraggly beard flow in the cool breeze.
A lot of us guys talk about how we’d behave if we were Hollywood A-listers with girls throwing themselves at us, and yet most big name celebrities are pretty quick to settle down, and they keep their private lives as private as possible.

Enter Leonardo DiCaprio – finally, someone who isn’t afraid to live out the fantasy we all dream about, and makes absolutely no attempt to hide it from the camera.

Let’s be perfectly clear: there’s a very distinct, solid line between the DiCaprio style of cockiness and the Bieber style of cockiness. On behalf of men everywhere, I can applaud Leo for taking some characteristics from his Jordan Belfort role and applying them to his everyday personal life, whereas Justin Bieber is essentially a spoilt brat who is peaking far too early.

And if the two of them were ever pitted up against each other, Leo would already have serious brownie points for getting caught on camera laughing when Orlando Bloom punched Justin Bieber in an Ibiza restaurant earlier this year.

DiCaprio also celebrated his 40th birthday this last November, in a 3-day bender with Russell Simmons, Robin Thicke, Tyrese Gibson, Adam Levine and a whole lot of models.

So let the Johnny Depps, Brad Pitts, George Clooneys and Ryan Goslings of this world settle down into marriage with children and all the boring lifestyle restrictions that come with it – us mere mortals have found a new idol in the form of Leonardo DiCaprio.
Who needs an Oscar when you’re living life like this?

7. Taylor Momsen
Born in 1993, this American actress and model is famous primarily for her work on Gossip Girl. Whether this bad girl image is as a result of drugs or an attempt to be seen as a grown up, she is notorious for being a girl gone bad.

6. Macaulay Culkin
From the star of Home Alone to being buddies with the late “King of Pop” Michael Jackson, Culkin’s life has been anything but normal. And so I guess that dealing with his rise to fame with the escapism of drugs isn’t hard to understand.

 5. Jodi Sweetin
Sweetin is best known for her role on Full House as Stephanie Tanner. Once the show ended in 1995, she apparently turned to drugs she didn’t know what to do with herself and was quite simply bored. Thankfully she seems to have gotten her life back on track.

4. Lindsay Lohan
Everyone is familiar with Lindsay Lohan and it is a shame that much of her notoriety is for the wrong reasons. Struggling to deal with a life lived in the spotlight, Lohan’s history with alcohol and drugs is well documented.

3. Britney Spears
If there is anyone that rivals Lohan and Culkin for a child star gone bad crown, it is Britney. Making the transition from sweet girl next door to shaven-headed supposed lunatic, Spears has had her problems dealing with the spotlight too.

2. Amanda Byrnes
Byrnes became a household name through Nickelodeon and a string of films. She then seemed to go off the reals a little, at least in the public eye. She has been arrested for charges such as DUI and marijuana possession.

1. Miley Cyrus
Despite starting out with a good girl image, Cyrus is another who appears to have longed to be seen as an adult. Racy film clips and reports of drug use and the like have tainted her image in the eyes of many parents.

Earlier this week, a picture which shows Kim Kardashian bearing her butt whilst casually smoking on a cigarette, leaked from a shoot for an upcoming edition of Love magazine. Of course, this caused something of a stir as we can all imagine. The reality star’s backside has long been the subject of discussion for many obsessed with the life of the notorious attention-grabber.

This time though, she may well have just taken it to a new level. Another photo from the shoot has leaked. This time, Kardashian isn’t leaving a lot to the imagination. In fact, if it weren’t for a robe which doesn’t even come close to doing its job, and a pair of chic glasses, she would not be wearing anything at all.
The magazine will not hit shelves until the 9th of February, but you can get a sneak peak at the full-frontal Kardashian.

10 Be polite and good things will come to you
Being polite is a necessity no matter how much a ruffian you are. The test is simple – be strong to the whole world and polite to your lady. Give her that and you have turned her on. If you are polite by nature, you are higher on the scale.
The “thanks yous” and “my ladys” always extract that secret blink of appreciation. The twinkle in the eye is a result of well spoken words
9 Make her feel secure
Sense of security is yet another turn-on for women; and you better prove yourself to be a pillar she can hold on to. While protecting your lady’s honour is old school, it still counts! But don’t forcefully create a situation that would involve fist fights. Stupid that would be. A simple gesture such as holding her strongly while she adjusts her heels is enough. She should feel safe with you. Make the cut gentlemen!

8 Wearing a good aftershave
While it’s a common perception that women get turned on by a man’s body odor (can’t say if that’s true), it is definitely not so on a date. Charming fragrances instead, are a huge turn-on for women. They love the exotic scents. The first time you stand beside her, this fragrance is going to make a mark. So it better be irresistible! She would remember you for this fragrance. Head over heels it is!

7 Dress nicely
While opinions differ on this, still most women admit that seeing their man well-dressed turns them on. So why take chances? If it’s your first date, make it a point to look good even though you consider yourself a man of the streets. A well-shaved, decently-dressed dude always scores (pun intended)! Moreover, the girl feels special when she sees you take pains to dress yourself properly just for the occasion. No harm in that!

6 Go to the gym
It’s a misconception that fat guys are a turn off. However, hitting the gym is surely a turn-on for most ladies! Hence, even if you are on the bulkier side, at least show your lady love you are health conscious, if not a fitness freak. Going to the gym is a lifestyle that women love. And if she too is a regular at the fitness club, you better match up to her expectation mate!

5 Spend time with just the two of you without friends
Remember, the ‘just the two of us’ feeling is a great turn-on for women. If she is willing to come to your place at night, there better not be anyone else back at home like a roomie snoring half-naked on your bed. All your efforts go down the drains then! Women love to walk into an empty house. If you are single, you got to be alone. At least for the night. That’s weird!

4 Learn how to dance
Here’s a small trick that can turn your date on. Practice a few dance moves before you go out with her. A lot can happen over a bit of salsa! Ladies love men who can dance. You may not have to a ‘master of moves’ but you should know enough so as to impress your girl. This means you should also have the opportunity to show your moves. Plan your date accordingly. Impress her

3 Get your teeth whitened and always have good breath!
Shining teeth with a twinkle here and there is a major turn-on for women. Surely you are no alien to the fact as women do not miss an opportunity to frown at brown patches and stinking mouths. Hopefully you are going to change your brushing habits. Pay a visit to your dentist as he could well be your lucky charm! Make sure she notices the sparkle and she would admire it secretly and blush!

2 Tell her your goals and dreams
Nothing turns women on more than seeing their men confident with life. If you have specific goals set for your life, you know you have won the deal. A clueless buffoon is always sulked at. Set definite goals and share them with your lady love. Confidence is what turns them on. On a date, questions like “what will you do in life?”, “what is your big dream?” often come up. That’s your lottery ticket!

1 Take her out to dinner
Treating your date or your lady love to dinner turns her on. But that’s not just it. If the dinner is cooked by you, she would love it even more and might make you happier later more than you expect. Women want to see their men care for them and dinner is the perfect time to show your care. It’s because the good time you are about to have post dinner, should be well-earned.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it has done everything to protect its card readers from being hacked or jammed on Election Day.
Mr Chidi Nwafor, the Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), INEC, stated this at a Situation Room Dialogue with INEC officials in on Wednesday in Abuja.

The dialogue was organized by the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room, with support from the British Department for International Development (DFID).

Nwafor said the meeting became necessary, following insinuations by some people that there were plans to jam or hack its server or card readers.

“I want to assure you that we have done everything possible in terms of security issues; in terms of when it was being designed, we have considered a lot of things.

“In any technology, we bring out issues as an engineer, but you must also know that this equipment you are bringing is for electoral process.

“Therefore, for you to make a design, you must also look at full electoral process of voting.

“Where are the ways this thing can be hacked? Where are the ways this equipment can be used in a negative ways? All these we have considered.

Nwafor added that the commission’s Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and card readers would help to eliminate election frauds in the forthcoming general elections.

He identified some of the election fraud in the country to include buying of votes, voter impersonation, ballot stuffing, miss-recording of vote and multiple voting.

“Multiple voting should be a thing of the past and the card reader would ensure one man: one vote,’’ he said.

He, however, added that curbing election fraud was not just the duty of INEC but all stakeholders.

Also speaking, INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, expressed the commission’s confidence in its card readers, adding that it had procured adequate functional card readers needed for the conduct of the elections.

Jega said that the commission had taken adequate measures to ensure that the card readers do not fail, stating that in the mock test conducted, and no card reader failed.

“We have about 150,000 voting points, because we broke some of the large polling units into voting points.

“We have procured 182,000 card readers, of all of these, we have only about 400 that were `dead on arrival’ – factory faults.

“They have been brought and they cannot boot, so we are comfortable about the integrity of the card readers itself and all the public demonstrations and test we have done, no card reader has failed.

“In addition we already have extra battery in case there is a problem with the charge of batteries or lack of functionality of the battery. “

Jega added that because the country would be holding three elections in one day, it had to adopt measures to ensure that the ballot papers were properly placed in correct ballot boxes.

After a week of global speculation, Durex has revealed the hugely anticipated smartphone technology that could change our sex lives forever…
Durex Pushes All The Right Buttons

And it’s the off button.

The world’s leading sexual well being brand sparked mass speculation on March 3rd by teasing an imminent technological breakthrough in partnership with Siren Mobile to improve people’s sex lives around the world. Hundreds of thousands of people visited the ‘Durexlabs’ website to find out more, with excitement amplified by global media and social networks.

But in a moving and enlightening video released yesterday (find below), couples who volunteered to test the technology, eager to give their love lives an uplift, were surprised to learn the answer lay in a simple switch that had been right in front of them all along – the off button.

The video, which has received 765,025 views in its first 24 hours, follows some of these beta testers on their emotional journey, highlighting the serious issue that we are becoming enslaved to technology. It has been released alongside a study by Durham University commissioned by Durex, which reveals that pervasive use of technology in relationships is seriously impacting how often we have sex, even cutting intercourse short and causing tensions in relationships.

Researchers from Durham’s Centre for Sex, Gender and Sexualities revealed that 40% of those interviewed have delayed sex because of technology, largely smart phones and tablets, with others reported hurrying sexual activity in order to respond to messages. Moreover, a third of the couples interviewed admitted to interrupting sex to answer their phone. One participant said: “Sometimes I’ll be on Facebook and he’ll be on a sporting app while we are both in bed; we realize that we are literally sitting in bed together, but living in different worlds.”

Ukonwa Ojo, Head of Global Brand Equity at Durex: “With technology playing such a pivotal role in our personal lives and relationships, we set out to explore how it could be utilized in a positive way to enhance our sex lives, but in doing so we discovered the most effective answer was the simplest. After consulting countless experts, academic research and endless qualitative interviews, the solution turned out to be a simple one – we should disconnect to reconnect.

“We are encouraged by the response to the campaign and film, particularly as we approach Earth Hour. We hope it will go some way to reconnect couples that have let technology compromise their connection with each other.”

Susie Lee, the app entrepreneur and CEO of Siren Mobile, has been a central part of the project’s implementation. Lee said: “Of course, tech can never really replace human interaction. True chemistry comes from intimacy. “So whilst we need our tech – it has enhanced our lives, enabling us to reconnect with old friends, reach wider social groups and meet new people – we need to recognize the times and places when social networking doesn’t enrich our experience. We really need to learn to focus on each other in the bedroom, rather than on our smartphones or tablets.”

Dr. Mark McCormack, Co-Director of the Centre for Sex, Gender and Sexualities at Durham University, comments: “Technology has revolutionized our lives and smart phones are now central to the organization of romantic relationships, from establishing them to maintaining love and affection when couples are apart.”

“What this research reveals and the point the video makes is that technology now consumes our relationships at a much deeper level. It’s made its way into the bedroom in more ways than we imagined, often with benefits, but also coming with potentially serious costs to relationships, as it can cause frustration and tension, and encroach on sexual activity.”

President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor Wednesday expressed bitterness over how the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega refused to hold a meeting with him.
Oritsejafor, who said the botched meeting, would have held earlier this year, hinted at the probability of Jega ignoring his request based on what some of the close associates of the electoral umpire must have told him.

“Some people have told me that I am too small to meet with him (Jega),” Oritsejafor said
.

He made this disclosure at a one-day interactive session of key stakeholders in the Nigerian project comprising religious, political organizations and security agencies organized by think Nigeria Christian-Muslim movement with the theme: ‘towards a peaceful and purposeful political transition in 2015.’

Oritsejafor said: “The General Secretary of CAN has the INEC Chairman’s number. He sent him a text saying the CAN President wants to meet with you. The INEC chairman text back saying those days were not good so Jega gave us two days to chose from and we chose one and he (Jega) accepted. I do not live in Abuja, I live in Warri, and so I have to make my plans to come here. All my plans were made and just as I was ready to come to Abuja my General Secretary contacted me again that the INEC chairman (Jega) said he cannot meet with us that he is too busy.

“Till today I don’t have access to the INEC Chairman. I could not meet this man. We wanted to discuss things bordering us with him. We want to give him some solutions, suggestions but that was it. No new date for us to meet with him. So this is a problem that is why I am saying this now publicly. This happened a little less than two months ago.

“INEC is a necessary organization that every nation must have. I am concerned about two things. One is on the issue of the Permanent Voters Cards (PVC). I have had it said several times that there are many Nigerians who are refusing to collect their PVC. I beg to disagree on this because I sample this and the church I pastor in Warri with about 35 thousand people and I asked to show me there PVCs and I was shocked, I tell you probably close to half of my congregation do not have their PVC.

“I sent my pastors over 100 of them out to meet them and find out why this is so.

“I think one of the things INEC can do is to publish the PVCs that they have quickly, so that Nigerians can easily locate them or pass information on it to each other, so that one can go there to collect it. I am not saying this will solve all the problems but it will go a long way to solve the problem. We charge INEC to please make sure that everyone of those Card Readers work. They should work, they must work.”

Oritsejafor said for the election to be successful Christian and Muslim leaders must sign a peace pact ensuring that Christians and Muslims are safe before, during and after the general elections.

He said: “If we are going to have a successful election there must be confidence building. And one of the things that will build confidence is that Christians and Muslims must resolve that we will protect each other.

“Let Christians who live in predominantly Muslim areas not be afraid to remain there. Many are running away. They shouldn’t. After all they are Nigerians. And our Muslim brothers must make a commitment to say Christians will not be killed in predominantly Muslims areas while Christians should also say Muslims who live in their area will not be killed.

“We must make that commitment to each other. And we must make it publicly. Let the nation know that nobody is going to be victimized based on his or her religion. Everyone must and should be free to go out and vote freely believing that who they are voting for will help them. That is what democracy is all about. Many of us here today are preachers; some are politicians and others. But the most important ones are the preachers because if you are politicians you will either go to the church or the mosque.

“The preachers here must also make a commitment to go to the churches and to the Mosques to begin to preach that Christians are save everywhere and Muslims are save everywhere and we must begin to teach our people to believe in Nigeria. We must begin to emphasize to our
people that we are all Nigerians.”

He advised leaders of both religions that: “We must begin to tell our leaders, our followers to begin to think Nigeria. Nobody is superior to the other.”

The CAN leader also urged all to encourage the military for their fight against Boko Haram.

The President General of the Supreme Council of Islamic Preachers in Nigeria (SCIPIN), Sheikh Muhammed Nourayn Bn-Ahmad said the two major problems: “currently threatening the corporate existence of the Nigerian nation are that of religious extremism/intolerance, as well
as subterranean forces working to break-up Nigeria into those previous pieces and ethnicity that were amalgamated in the past 100 years.”

All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday accused the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of having sentenced Nigeria to economic and political under-development since 1999.
Buhari, who spoke when 13 political parties, which pledged to work with him for the purpose of the forthcoming general elections, paid him a visit at his Support Group Office in Abuja, lamented that the country had made more money between 1999 and this year, than she made between 1914 (when amalgamation took place) and now.

He showed appreciation to the political parties for the trust reposed in him.

“I honestly appreciate how you arrived at this decision to co-operate with us in this election. This decision is very patriotic. We have to appreciate the stage we are in. We have to realise that we can save the system and our country, if we come together,” he said.

Buhari challenged the ruling party to tell Nigerians how money generated in the last 16 years has been utilized.

He said: “We challenge the PDP; let them account for their stay in power for 16 years of rulership, in terms of the fundamental objectives we have been talking about, in the three most important aspects we have been talking about – security, economy and corruption.

“We have been very consistent about these issues but people who are sitting on the periphery have kept making noise and wasting our time. Let them come and defend themselves in what they have done in the last 16 years, with the incredible resources they made within this period.

“The incredible resources this country realized within this period, which is much more than what the country made since the amalgamation in 1914, if you go and get this record from the Central Bank.

“The type of money we made in the last 16 years, we have never made it before.

“We used to have Nigeria Airways, Nigeria Shipping Line, Nigeria Railways, etc. But what do we have now? Nothing. Look at the state of our Naira. Now, you have to get N220 or more for a dollar. How can we develop under this system?

“We appreciate the stage we are in our political development. We have been sentenced to underdevelopment by the PDP.

“So, we do appreciate the role you are playing right now. Our survival as a nation depends on our coming together and insisting there must be free, fair and credible election.”

The political parties that came to pay allegiance to the opposition candidate are Peoples Democratic Movement, PDM; African People’s Alliance, APA; KOWA Party; Social Democratic Party, SDP; African Democratic Congress, AD; and HOPE Democratic Party.

Others are Democratic People’s Party, DPP; United Peoples Party, UPP; Accord Party, Independent Democratic, ID; Unity Party of Nigeria, UPN; and Action Alliance, AC.

Chairman of PDM, Alhaji Bashir Yusuf, said leaders of the coalition parties after series of meetings considered and accepted to support Gen. Buhari and cast their votes on the side of truth.

He said: “We have collaborated with the APC, and have decided to cast our votes for Gen. Buhari, but unfortunately some political parties have decided to serve their masters rather than the country.”

According to him the objectives of the parties are to mobilize Nigerians to play greater role in political activities in the country and ensure they are given the right to elect their leaders in a free, fair and credible electoral process; monitor and exert pressure on INEC as well as the government and its agencies to uphold the sanctity of dates of elections; conduct free, fair and credible elections; declare winners and ensure they take office according to the provisions of the law.

“It is the opinion of NEC that the incumbent President who has been at the helm of affairs of the nation for the last six years has failed.

“In contrast, Gen. Buhari has a track record of achievement in these areas as a former Head of State and later Executive Chairman of Petroleum Trust Fund, PTF.

“We believe that it is time for Nigeria to give Gen. Buhari the chance. In view of the forgoing, the parties unanimously resolved to support your candidature for President of Nigeria and calls on all members of other political parties to vote for you in the presidential election.

“We are independent political parties and still have candidates running for the other elections and we are supporting our candidates.

“But in the critical office where change can happen and can affect all other areas, we believe in Gen. Buhari and we believe that the opposition as a whole must come together and salvage this nation.

“Now, the time has come for us to voice our support for your candidature, being the leading candidate of the opposition and that is why we are here,” he added.

Surprisingly, I got my permanent voter card (PVC), perhaps the most coveted property in the land today, effortlessly. Thanks to the efficiency of very courteous young officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). It did not take more than five minutes for the much coveted card to be in my possession. Still not believing my luck, with the precious document safely tucked in my pocket, I was transfixed for a moment. My less fortunate compatriots, who were still trying to unsuccessfully sort things out with INEC staff, starred admiringly at me.
Basking in the euphoria of my newly found status as a potential electorate, with vested constitutional and civic obligation to decide the future and, indeed, the fortune of our dear nation, I moved with the swagger of one who has just hit a jackpot, not actually knowing which direction to follow. After a couple of minutes of indecision, I eventually decided against going to the bank to lodge my PVC for safety intent. Lodging PVC in a bank? What a ridiculous proposition! But then, don’t blame me. The news across town, these days, is that PVC has become an object of intense and desperate hunt.

Now, talking more seriously, the worth of the PVC in the current political process cannot be over -emphasised. For one, it offers electorates the right to have a say in deciding those who would rule over them. Therefore, possession of this all important item puts an enormous responsibility on the electorate. It places the destiny of the country right in the hands of the voters. It is such an enormous responsibility that must be carried out with every sense of honour, dignity and patriotism. It is a sacred task that must be performed with utmost diligence and patriotism. This is because any slipshod choice that is made in the coming polls could portend great danger to the lives of generations yet unborn. It could jeopardise the future of the country.

Hence, it is important for the electorates to be vigilant and cautious in the choice they make at the polls. The trend in our political history is for electorates to vote based on emotional and primordial considerations that don’t really add value to the process of nation building. Therefore, electorates need to appropriately listen to and assess some of the candidates that are canvassing to secure their votes at the forthcoming general elections. They need to become more absorbed in their appraisal of the various candidates, taking into proper consideration their antecedents and personality. They need to pay close attention to the messages of the various aspiring political contestants before finally deciding who deserve their votes. We have fumbled and wobbled enough as a nation. This is the time to get things right.

As it has been previously stressed, the destiny of this nation and that of future generations of Nigerians lies in the hands of the electorates. Whichever path the country would follow in the coming years would, thus, be a clear manifestation of the kind of choice they make at the coming polls. For all the hues and cries over bad governance and poor leadership in the country, we won’t be able to actually absolve ourselves of complicity because we elected the kind of leaders we have. This is why voters must consider the civic obligation of electing our leaders a very sacred one.

It is depressing to hear that some would-be voters are already selling their PVCs. It is distressing enough for voters to opt for the wrong candidates at the polls. It is, however, inexcusable and reprehensible for anyone to sell his/her PVC for whatever reason. It is an act of foolishness that must be condemned and discouraged by all and sundry. The PVC is an invaluable asset that must be jealously guarded by potential voters. Trading it for monetary gains readily silences one’s voice and mortgages the inheritance of unborn generations. It is a gross expression of mind-boggling stupidity. Anyone who does this, under whatever guise, has sold off his birthright and privileges as a citizen. Such a person could only be compared to the biblical Esau who traded off his birthright for a plate of porridge. The consequence of his action was by no means palatable.

Unlike other forms of government, the beauty of democracy lies in the ability of the people to have a say in the choice of those who preside over the apparatus of governance. This is the rationale behind the popular affirmation of democracy as the government of the people, by the people and for the people. However, for the people to actually maximize the benefits of democracy, they need to be prudent in the choices they make at the polls. The one who casts his ballot for pecuniary gains is not different from the one who trades his PVC for same purpose. Such people are yet to accurately appreciate the enormity of the responsibility that democracy places on them. It is partly as a result of the improper electoral practices of such people that we have always gotten our democratic experience wrong.

The First Lady, Patience Jonathan, has finally addressed the allegations levelled against her by the Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi, on the violence that recently rocked the state at the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Okrika.
Speaking at the PDP presidential women’s rally held yesterday, March 18, at the Liberation stadium, Rivers state, the First Lady said she will not descend so low as to reply to Governor Amaechi on the allegations.

It will be recalled that Governor Amaechi recently accused Mrs Jonathan over the attack at the APC rally in Okrika and the death of a policeman.

However, the First Lady’s response to the governor comes after the state police commissioner, Dan Bature, said on Wednesday that Governor Amaechi lied in his allegation that the withdrawal of the anti-terrorism unit from the APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr Dakuku Peterside, was an attempt to assassinate him.

Mrs Jonathan described Amaechi as a rascal and said it would be belittling for her to respond to such allegations.

“They are rascals and I will not respond to them. Don’t let me open my mouth to talk about these rascals,” she said.

According to her, “I have come here to talk about issues; to say what Jonathan has done in Rivers State. If you come to the transport sector, the federal government has completed the East-West Road. Today if you look at the Aba-Port Harcourt road, federal government is working on it.

“If you come to the aviation sector; if you go to the Port Harcourt International Airport, it is being rehabilitated. The railway system stopped working several years ago but today, our railway is nearing completion. Today, railways in Rivers are nearing completion, not 100 years monorail that will never be completed until your grandchildren will be born. We have done the jetty at Okrika, Degema. This was done by the PDP. I am saying this because they claim whatever project that is done by the PDP.

“Onne Road has also been completed. Today, the Onne Port 3 and 4 have also been completed. We have also converted the gas that had been wasting at Onne to electricity. About 150 companies are working at Onne, providing employment to Rivers indigenes.”

She also warned the people of the state not to vote for the APC presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) , in the March 28 election as he would fill all the prisons in the country with people he perceived to be his political enemies, adding that “once a dictator will remain a dictator”.

She insisted that Buhari does not have what it takes to fight corruption or fulfill any of the promises he had been making to the people.

“Whenever he (Buhari) comes to you again, ask him what he did for Rivers State when he was Head of State. Rivers people are not fools. Nobody can fool us,” she said.

The First Lady warned the women not to sell their permanent voters’ card (PVCs) for any sum of money, noting that it was within their power to vote out “this expired drug called APC”.

On the governorship elections, Jonathan said the PDP would ensure the victory of its candidate, Chief Nyesom Wike, as the next governor of the state.

She said the people of Rivers state would reclaim their mandate and give it to the PDP.

“PDP will install Nyesom Wike as governor because President Jonathan is a lion and he gave birth to a lion,” she said.

“We did not vote for these people. We in Rivers state voted Celestine Omehia but these people came and stole our mandate and today they are abusing us. They don’t have respect for elders. They are busy abusing me and my husband. I will not answer them. But a man that can descend to insult his father, his sister, his grandfather; what do you expect from such a man. In Rivers State we respect elders but these rascals have no respect for their elders. We must vote them out in April,” she added.

It should be noted that Dame Patience has recently been involved in a series of controversies over her scandalous quotes directed at the opposition. She was criticized over trying to incite violence in the country ahead of the general elections, to which the president’s wife responded that she is “a woman of peace” who hates violence.

American television and social media personality, socialite, and model, Kim Kardashian and her superstar rapper husband Kanye West have done the unthinkable just to have a baby.

According to E! news, Kim was said to have admitted that her doctor has warned her against having too much sex in a bid to get pregnant. She revealed she and her husband have sex up to 15 times a day all in a bid to get a second child. She was quoted telling E! News saying:

“The doctors said he thinks I’m having sex too much. He said one time is more powerful…so we’ve tried everything. ‘I’ve done everything so perfect to try and get pregnant. There’s a list of things you shouldn’t be doing and I was perfect for eight to 10 months and now I don’t understand.
‘I’m going to do everything that I want to do and that includes going platinum. Hopefully I will get pregnant doing all the wrong things. I’m totally changing my tactics. I’m over it. I’m over trying, over-thinking it, hence why I dyed my hair blonde. ‘Literally teenagers on meth get pregnant in two seconds. It’s crazy. When you don’t want to be pregnant, it happens.’”

It will be recalled that just recently, the 34-year-old reality star and mother of one revealed why she is rarely seen showing off her teeth. The reality star has had quite a busy year, from her wedding to Kanye West in May to landing on the cover of Vogue Magazine to “breaking the Internet” with her nude photos on Paper Magazine cover, and  she has been the most searched person of 2014.

The Boko Haram terrorist group after it captured the town of Bama in Borno State September last year, the sect established their government and started ruling the people of the town with Islamic tenets popularly known as ‘Sharia Law.’
A woman who witnessed the regime of the bloodthirsty terrorist group in Bama, on Wednesday narrated her ordeal to Daily Trust correspondent.

The woman who did not want her name in print said she left the town on the eve of Nigerian troops offensive to re-take Bama from Boko Haram.

She revealed that trapped Bama residents were forced to accept the new regime of Boko Haram insurgents who introduced alien rules and order in the town for more seven months.

The defence headquarters, in a statement issued on Monday, said troops had expelled Boko Haram from Bama with massive casualty inflicted on members of the terrorists group.

But the woman told BBC Hausa service that just before the troops launch the offensive, the terrorists had gotten hint of it and ordered all residents out of the town in preparation to set the whole town ablaze.

We spent seven months, two weeks together with Boko Haram in Bama. They took women and children to ‘Halka,’ that is where they detain people. Therefore, they run away with all the ladies and children of Bama, who were detained in Halka,” she said.

When asked about the age of the children, she placed their age bracket between seven, eight and nine years old.

“They are all young children. They used to bring food to both the detained women and the children. But sometimes, they denied people the chance to eat food. There was a time we spent two days without cooking anything at our homes,” she said.

When she was asked how they left the town and responded to the rule: “We were at home when we began to see smoke in the sky. We first thought that was coming from the military personnel, but the smoke kept on increasing. When we went out to observe, we saw people running helter-skelter and Boko Haram were following, urging people to exit Bama. They were saying that Bama would be condemned on that day and that anybody who refuses to leave the town, they would burn them completely.”

Bama town which is about 60 km (40 miles) southeast of the state capital Maiduguri was captured by members of the Boko Haram terrorist group last year September and has been under the control of the Islamist terrorists as they continued their six-year-old insurgency in a bid to establish an Islamic state.

The fight for Bama according to a security source started since last week and finally made headway at the weekend when Nigerian troops recaptured it from the terrorists after troops have reportedly flushed them out from Adamawa and Yobe states.

With only a few days to the general elections, no fewer than 6,000 pastors in the Southwest are mobilising for the emergence of Major General Muhammadu Buhari as president in the forthcoming elections, while rejecting President Goodluck Jonathan.
According to them, they were acting by divine intervention from God who told them that Buhari would be the next president of Nigeria, pointing out that they were not bribed by anybody to support Buhari, PM News reports.
The pastors under the aegis of Christians for Governance, Pastors For Change have also declared seven days praying and fasting for God to grant the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate victory at the poll.

The pastors, drawn from various churches, such as the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Catholic, Orthodox, among others have openly endorsed Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, his running mate at a news conference in Ikeja, Lagos.

Addressing the news conference, Bishop Kayode Williams, National Coordinator, Christians for Good Governance, said: “We want to observe seven days of special prayer on the seven mountains in the Southwest political zones comprising six states to pray for the victory of Buhari and Osinbajo in the 28 March presidential election.

“We are using this opportunity to call on all pastors who believe that the time has surely come for change in Nigeria to exhort, mobilize, instruct and direct all our members from our churches, numbering 186,000 churches in the Southwest zone to adhere to this divine instruction from God.

“We shall intensify our intercessory prayers to God so that there will be peace in the nation and that the election will be free, transparent and peaceful. We are asking our archbishops, evangelists, elders, deacons and deaconesses to join hands and make sure that the prayer programme is very successful.”

He noted that the present leadership had failed the nation, adding that Nigerians had hoped for improvement in various sectors but nothing has been done and that is why the group is calling for change.

“No one can do the same thing and expect different result. Nigerians must therefore get a change in baton. It appears that many people at the top do not feel what an ordinary Nigerian feels: No job, no money, no light, health problem, sorrow and frustration everyday due to massive corruption at the top. All these must change. Nigerians deserve good life in the midst of all the resources that God has endowed us with,” Williams stated.

Speaking on the N7 billion bribery allegation against the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), he denied knowledge of any money collected, but added that every rumour has an element of truth.

The movement is being supported by Rev. Moses Iloh, Archbishop Magnus Atilade, Ayo Opadokun and many other bigwigs in Christendom.

In February 2015, the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, had alleged that the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) bribed some Christian leaders with N6bn to campaign against Buhari. This was trailed by controversies. A pastor named Kallamu Musa Dikwa, who claimed to be the Executive Director, Voice of Northern Christian Movement, also alleged that some pastors received the sum of N 7 billion, and not N 6 billion said by Gov Amaechi.

CAN however debunked these allegations, saying it is a complete lie and just one of the many evil plots to dent the image of CAN’s leadership as well as to rubbish its integrity.

Meanwhile, Bishop Emmah Isong, Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Cross River State also accused Director General (DG) of the APC presidential campaign council, Governor Amaechi of bribing 500 pastors to support Gen. Buhari.

In the very heart of Africa, the most populous black nation in the world, there’s a land in the south east, flanked by fresh waters and a mighty ocean, and adorned with lush vegetation, endless palm lands and natural resources so abundant, the world have come to share in it’s promise, in this blessed land is the most proud and colorful people on the face of the earth, the Ibibio people, and I am one of them.
We’ve always occupied the cross river area of modern day Nigeria and constitute the fourth largest ethnic group in the country. The major sub groups include the Oron, Eket, Ibuno and Annang some communities in the fishing settlements along the estuary of the cross river.
Ibibio means short or brief in English, our adopted language from colonial days, though we are anything but short in tradition, and our rich cultural heritage is evident in our unique arts, from the mask and accoutrements of the Ekpo society, to the well detailed sculptures and works just as likely to capture beauty as they are the hideous forms of evil spirits from a diabolic past
The Ibibios largely engage in farming, fishing and trading. we are also well known for  our skills in wood carving and are considered masters in adroit professional techniques, and weaving as is evident’ in my apparels, Ibibio’s stand out in their elaborate and colorful attires like my outfit, it  is called Mbopo, a fancy attire which includes a knee length skirt to cover my dignity as a woman while the wrapper acts as a colorful accessory, a blouse, usually covering only the bust, (this has been a recent addition though, to conform with modern standards of modesty), and finally, a fancy beaded body adornment like bangles, earrings and necklaces  to  beautify and show  opulence and depict my feminism.

Mbopo is usually worn by young brides in performance of their marital rites, it is concerned with female corporeality, especially with respect to physical modifications to beauty that empower the initiate in addition to weight gain. Ceremonial transformations include body adornments with oils and dyes, tattooing, cicatrisation, massages, elaborate hairstyles, and in rare instances, tooth-filing.
The Ibibio people are found predominantly in Akwa ibom state in southwestern Nigeria, the Ibibio people became part of eastern Nigeria of Nigeria under British colonial rule. during the Nigerian civil war, the eastern region was split into 3 states, the southern state of Nigeria was where the Ibibio was located, one of the original twelve states of Nigeria after independence, the Efik, Anang, Oron, Eket, and their brothers and sisters of the Ogoja district, were also in the southeastern state was later renamed Cross river state. Again in the year 1987, by a military Decree promulgated that same year, Akwa ibom state was carved out of the then Cross river state as a separate state on her own, cross river state remains one of the neighbouring states .
There are a lot of other lovely qualities about the Ibibio culture besides the dressing, I particularly love the local delicacies comprised of many varieties of soup like afang, edikang ikong and afia efere ebot
For the Ibibio, there are two aspects, visible, that is the domain of ordinary human experiences and invisible, the domain of God, the gods and the spirit. Human life passes through these two domains in a cycle: the adult becomes aged and passes into the world of invisible to be reincarnated and born again as a baby into the world of visible. A wonderful people, and I am proud to identify with them.

Miss Uduak Udofia, we love your photoshoot. We love the traditional theme you gave to it, The mud house and the the whole setup is really creative. Just that you made a little mistake. The Ibibio does not consist of of Annang and eket as you stated, rather Akwa Ibom State consist of Anaang community, the Ibibio community,  the Eket and Oron Community. All the same, congrats.
