INEC Staffs In Imo State On The Run With Ballot Boxes
Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) in Imo State has revealed that twelve ad hoc staffs in the state are on the run.
According to the Tribune, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Gabriel Adam, revealed that  the staffs ran-off with stolen ballot boxes to unknown destinations.

Dr. Gabriel made this revelation while briefing newsmen about re-run election in 23 local government areas in Imo state, on Saturday, April 25.

He, however, failed to mention the number of INEC staff who was involved in election malpractices in the previous election, adding that the police in the state was investigating the case.
At the end of the investigation, he explained that those found guilty would be charged to court.

The resident commissioner  warned both INEC staff and their ad hoc workers to be careful and mindful of Saturday supplementary elections in 250 polling units.

Dr Adam pointed out that the number of votes expected in the 250 polling units were 148,407 while 113,803 collected their permanent voter cards (PVC) in the 250 polling units. He disclosed that each of the polling unit would be manned by 10 policemen to checkmate malpractices.

According to him, the number of votes scored by each candidate would be ascertained and declared.
INEC had initially declared the April 11 governorship polls in Imo state inconclusive due to mass election violence.

The electoral commission later announced April 25 for re-run of the 2015 Governorship elections and some constituencies in the state House of Assembly elections. Meanwhile the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter in the state has demanded the cancellation of the April 11 polls in the state.
